So what happened with the Amherst-Middlebury game.  What are your thoughts, those that know.

BooBallsCasRay

hockey game sounds like a blowout - shed some light please, mrmike?

Is it true that classes have been canceled next week due to Hopkins' monstrous whamaslamathankyoumamaindianaalabamaslammabamajama shattering multiple windows across campus?

Dr. E Pepper, what are you talking about?

Hockey game was a blowout win, 8-2.  As much as I'm happy for my buddies on the team, I think the fans would have been treated to a better game if we did the basketball game.  Hindisght is 20-20, though, and I think we made the right decision at the time.  We'll definitely have tomorrow's game on the air.

According to the Amherst website, 16-0 is the best start in program history.

midd might be for real. saw them blowout bowdoin. kevin hopkins looks like a young candyman out there. doesn't run the floor quite as well as the candyman did back in the day, and sure doesn't shoot the three like him, but he's got potential

gordonmann

Clucks beat Williams, 65-62.

Look at Chris Rose's line in this game!

More than half of his team's points...

Props to Midd and Williams for keeping things closer than expected. Its good to see some teams putting up a fight.

Winners win, The Historian drinks, and I try not to when I go through the parking lot...

All the homes teams win Friday night.  History gives them a good chance to sweep the weekend.

Rose kept Williams in the game tonight....from what I heard.  Needs a repeat performance tomorrow to keep that one close too.

Midd showed they may be for real.  Let's see if they can put together solid back-to-back games on the road.

Farrell keeps doing work for the Mules.

I dont know if Midd is for real or not, but they certainly played well tonight. I was impressed with Rudin, Harris, and Thompson. A big edge for Midd was their FT shooting tonight. Hopefully Amherst can get that on track.

Fluff section:
K Hop with nicest dunk.
Olson with prettiest turnover.
I like it when it comes to a point in a basketball game when other fans come up to me and say "I dunno Walzy...Amherst needs to go on an 18-0 run for your prediction to be right on." Props to Midd on covering the spread (by a lot).
Still got us over Williams by 25.

Pat Coleman

Tim McLaughlin for subtlest steal.

Thing that puzzles me about Middlebury was the 38% from the floor and 29% from downtown, even in rebounding and turnovers, yet in the game until the end.

I was asked off the board how Smith looked tonight -- he did not stand out at all.

On the Amherst side, walzy, much more impressed than last time (duh). Wheeler didn't have a standout game though he shot a lot to get to 20 points, but I finally saw why Hopkins was in the starting lineup. :)

Pat,
Still not our A game but better than the game we brought to Middletown.

Bobcats fans,

Is there any way to get live updates from Lewiston tomorrow?  Preferably video/audio?

met_fan

I'm not trying to say that Shalvoy is better than Olson (I would take Olson every time), but it might not be entirely accurate to compare stat lines like that when the rest of their respective teammates are of such clearly different levels of talent.  Olson has a few more options at his disposal every time down the court than Shalvoy does.
