You think it might be slated towards Wooster...wow...that's a ground breaking admission along the lines of:

"In the past few days, however, it has become evident to me that I no longer have a strong enough political base in the Congress to justify continuing that effort. As long as there was such a base, I felt strongly that it was necessary to see the constitutional process through to its conclusion, that to do otherwise would be unfaithful to the spirit of that deliberately difficult process and a dangerously destabilizing precedent for the future."

You may have well just authorized a break into the DNC, covered it up...and responded with the above.

But with your ability to state the obvious I must ask you the following:

"You think there's a connection between this Vigo character and the... slime?"

And just in case diehardfan upgrades from pointing out a person's typos as spelling errors and moves on to actual mistakes in grammar:

Don't start a sentence with the word "however."

I'll beat formerbant10 to this one: Trinity has actually been to one final four, back in the mid-1990's.  Three of the last four is an incredible achievement for the Jeffs.  Ephs barely hanging on to the conference final four lead (four total), but the Jeffs are closing fast and don't seem to be slowing down.

This year may be the best chance for Amherst to finally break through in Salem because New England will have some much stronger competition at the very top next year, and some of the elite teams in this year's tourney (Wash. U and Stevens Point in particular, also SUNY Brockport) are very young and will only get nastier.

Actually, the simulation is not at all slated towards Wooster.  Being more familiar with the playing-time patterns of that team does not create a bias in their direction, it only aids me in getting their best guys on the court when they might be there, not more often.  I do everything that I can to put forth a level playing field; I have no desire to play a rigged game.  Believe me, that's no fun.

Two teams have equaled or exceeded a 50% field goal percentage against Amherst this year.  Tufts (31-62) on January 12th and Widener (29-57) on March 3rd.  Wooster's field goal percentage for the season is .521.  In their last four games it's been .596 (Transylvania), .554 (Centre), .493 (John Carroll), and .485 (Brockport).

Are they capable of shooting 54% against Amherst?  They sure as heck are.  If I had to put out an over/under number for Wooster's field goal percentage on Friday I'd go with 49%.  I'm not at all worried that they can score from the field against the Lord Jeffs.  My latest worry is their free throw shooting. :)

I ran my AtR video game and my box score looks like Gilbert playing Duke.

Timmy Mac dropped 83 and took all but 2 of Amherst's shots. I also added in the full court press because the Wooster PG only has 2 blocks and this enabled T-Mac to get 14 steals. Cooper and Port got theirs, 28 and 22 respectively. My favorite play of the game was when Hopkins took an olson no look touch pass and did the "two-fisted-triple-pumping intercontental double-dunk."
Amherst won 87-66.
I am 7-0 when playing out Va Wesleyan or Amherst games this NCAA postseason.

According to Fox Sports, Paulsen is mentioned as a possible candidate for the Harvard head coach.  Didn't he go through this just a few years ago with Dartmouth and Brown?

Hopkins only had one of those?  You need to get the advanced version of the game...  ;)

Finally, any truth to the rumor that Sasha Baron Cohen will be singing the National Anthem on Saturday?  I heard the folks down at the Salem Civic Center love him.

I just saw that movie last night!  HILARIOUS..

re: Paulsen, yes.  He took his name out of the running for Dartmouth.  I imagine the cache of Harvard might be harder to resist.  I also saw that Pat Duquette Williams '93 was a potential candidate -- he is the top BC assistant and will be a head coach sooner or later ...

I dont mean to be too argumentative, but I would say that of the NESCAC schools, Williams is head and shoulders above everyone else (including Amherst, where I am a loyal student) in terms of reputation as a sports school. 8 straight directors cups (or whatever it is now) and the only dIII school to be named on SI's list of the greatest sports schools in the country. Not trying to take anything away from Midd, but Williams is clearly the cream of the crop in that department. Midd and Amherst are probably the second tier, but a good bit behind.

a) i cant believe you can actually go to bed at night after posting this

b) Amherst is gonna take the Sears cup this year

c) dungaronies

Hey Vigo/Spengler, how many names do you need now?

That sounds like a D-Dawk classic dunk.  But that's just me.

Hey Pat, I tossed you the biggest softball of all time by actually saying that Egon has died and Vigo had risen from his ashes.

I'll have to respond to your question with one of my own:

How many of your internet buddies did you brag to about checking that the ip's were the same?  If the answer is one (since I have said that Egon is no longer with us) then  the answer to our questions are the same.

PS.  Where is the d3cast archive of the colby game?  You have only given more weight to my theory by implicating the NCAA.

BACK AND TO THE LEFT, BACK AND TO THE LEFT, BACK...AND TO THE LEFT!

Pat Coleman

No idea. I don't run D3Cast.

It's easy for me to check -- one click. Administrators get all sorts of extra data you guys don't see. But it wasn't that difficult -- your style isn't that hard to discern.

Pat,

On the biggest week of your year (I assume), you have nothing better to do than question VigotheCarpathian about mundane matters at 2:22 a.m. and then brag about your keen literary analysis at 3:49 a.m.?

Seriously, I know the big news about the partnership between NBCSports.com and SI.com combined with the two D3 Final Fours is probably keeping you up, but you got to get your rest.  We're all depending on your sharp, unbiased analysis of the upcoming weekend.

Congrats to all the NESCAC players on the All-Region team.  With 3 on the top team and 2 on the second team, we showed that even in a somewhat down year, the NESCAC is still the premier conference in the Northeast:

First team members:
Olson
Stockwell
R. Martin

Second Team members:
