Quote from: VigoTheCarpathian on March 22, 2007, 07:04:05 PMHasanova, are you sure it had nothing to do with the fact that the "f" and "d" keys are located directly next to each other on a standard "qwerty" keyboard?

Dman, you are in fact correct that Williams won a championship first.  The Yankees-Red Sox analogy comes to mind first, but I think the following is more accurate to describe that of we which we are referring.  While the British Navy was a global powerhouse before the United States existed...something tells me I'd take us against them these days.

Keep dreaming that your kids have career days everytime they play anyone good.  The rest of us will bank on Olson working the ball inside to the guy who is two inches taller than your tallest player as well as the mutants over at williams unable to entertain a kid with normal social skills enough for him to choose you guys over us.
VigoTheCarpathian - You make a good point about the QWERTY keyboard.  Does that mean, however, that while trying to type an "f" with his left index finger he was actually a half key too far to the left and inadvertently caught the "d" key as well?  This would also mean that his finger would have to activate the "d" key (and then, with staccato abruptness, release it!) a split second before also activating the "f" key.   I will concede the possibility, but, if I may, I'd like to offer a more pragmatic - and probable - theory:  namely, he did not know the correct spelling.   :)   Speaking of a standard QWERTY keyboard, what's the longest known English word that can be typed on said keyboard using only one of the three horizontal rows of letters?

You also made an interesting point about the English and American navies.  If academic longevity alone guaranteed athletic success, then the Harvard Crimson should be the NCAA champs ever year.  Anyone want to wager on that scenario?  :)

maaaaaaaaaaaan, am i bored...

Hasanova, I am not sure what your post had to do with anything...the british royal navy or division 3 mens basketball.  Seriously, it had not an ounce of worth.  You and diehardfan can form some type of duo of feeling superior when you conflate typos and spelling errors.  Also...staccato means abrupt.  (obviously also being a musical term.)  It is infrequent that someone on this board attempts to sound smart and fails in the manner in which you just have.  bravo

Also, remember when jeffrookie would dog on o'shea's playing during the regular season...and then remember when it was his defense and work within the amherst offense that was critical in the championship...orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr remember when jeffrookie would post criticizing the play of amherst players as if they were his favorite professional team when in fact they are just his classmates?  It is this bizarre idea that a student can look at these guys (his classmates) as I do when say...my favorite nfl team's offensive line jump offsides and I scream and curse at the tv.

It's Williams that go to their games for love of the school and the sport.  We're supposed to be normal remember...If you want to sound like an impartial journalist while working for the radio powerhouse that is wamh or get your karma points really high by saying negative things about the few kids that actually still throw parties on this campus ...that's your perogative.  Just don't let me or the rest of the kids who actually know and care about these guys hear it at a game.  Chances are someone will tell you to sit on it...The only one who is allowed to say negative things towards Dan O'Shea is me when he is screaming about video games before noon and wakes me up...or Fletcher when he won't come to the diner with me, dave and jones...or Wheeler for going to the library too often. yadadadada?!?!?!

Don't feel like you need to defend yourself, apologize or whatever...you'll always be second to mrmike...

Kessler, you are the wierdest looking kid I have ever seen. Get contacts and a girlfriend. The fact that the basketball team lets you hang out with them because you suck up to them all the time does not make you cool. Because my entire social life does not depend on the basketball team letting me carry their jocks around, I can say whatever I want about them.

I've posted a picture of Kessler (Vigo/Spengler) so you can all see what I'm talking about. It doesnt quite capture how frail and pasty white he is, but it will have to do. Most people this ugly are forced to have a good personality, but Kessler is an asshole on top of it all. Congratulations, you have no redeeming qualities!

Seriously, look at that attachment. I swear I didnt google image search 'nerd' thats an actual picture of vigo. The old lady behing him looks petrified of his hideousness. I'm sorry Vigo, I didnt want to have to do it, but its pathetic that someone like you thinks they're better than anyone else.

Vigo, don't be so modest - you've accomplished it 14 consecutive times.

Actually, just for kicks, I just did a google image search for 'nerd' and this is was the first result:

It actually looks remarkably similar to kessler! Other than the hair color, they could be twins.

Are you seriously accusing hasanova of conflating something?  I've never known him to conflate anything.
(At least not since he stopped combining beans and peppers.)

Pat Coleman

Not sure why this had to devolve into personal attacks but perhaps you guys could talk about your national championship team instead of each other.

Vigo ... I'm not sure why your boredom resulted in your post.  I guess what one person finds humorous, another does not.  I won't address you again, so good luck and peace.  PS  I'm well aware of the meaning and musical background for staccato, but thanks for your added insight.  The redundancy was inadvertent, but is noted.

I post telling this kid to take it easy on his classmates and he insults the way I look.  Love your passion...I'd make fun of you too if someone didn't have to tell me who you were.  I really don't know your name...and before you came up to me in Salem, and had to turn around and ask who you were...I didn't know what you look like.

As far as sucking up to the guys on the basketball team...You can ask my roommates...I'm not very nice to them.  They let me be friends with them because of my remarkable cuddling and dancing ability (seriously just ask.)  Again, jeffrookie...really love the passion.  If I take the time to ask someone your name, perhaps I will post later making fun of you.  As far as me being an asshole...you may be right.

love you, bye.

Haha, my name is Bill Nahill. It rhymes, you can start with that. Also, I didnt talk to you in Salem, you must be thinking of someone else.

Anyone who reads this board knows that I am overwhelmingly positive about the team. I think I said I wished O'Shea wouldn't leave his feet so much. That doesnt mean I dont think he's a great player. Nobody's perfect. Last year I said Zalaski could take a little better care of the ball and you jumped on me. I think its ok to make a critism every once and awhile. Its pretty clear that I'm still one of their biggest fans. I go to every game that I can make and spend a lot of time trying to get other people to come support them. Hell, I totaled a car on the way to Salem and still made it down to see them. But you're right, I dont really know any of them that well personally, so maybe that makes it much different for me than for you. For me, its more like following a pro team than watching a bunch of my friends play.

sludge, I actually owe my success in conflating typos and spelling errors to the valuable early experience I gained conflating beans and peppers.  Who knew?  I stopped consuming the latter and stopped proofreading the former for the same reason (they give me gas).  There are just too many problems to mention.  Well, maybe one ...  "mens"?

Back to basketball - did you know Amherst's LeFrak Gymnasium and Guilford's Ragan-Brown Field House have the same architecture?  Maybe it's an omen for the 2008 Final Four!

The photo of GC's basketball court doesn't show the roof, but it's the same style as the one over the pool and at LeFrak.
