If anyone is interested, I encourage you all to participate in the North East Poster's Poll.

If you wish to do so, please email your top 10's to me by 8 pm every monday, so you have a little under seven hours to do so for this week.

Walzy I think this might be the first time all season you are way off on your spread. I would say the spread should not be much more than 15. This is a team that took Brandeis into Overtime exactly a week ago.

And lost to Johnson State.

Middlebury was off this past weekend: interesting scheduling. Johnson State tomorrow, then the wicked Maine trip, Colby and Bowdoin. Bowdoin is 11-2, with a one point loss at Bates and a three point win at Colby, and some close games against lesser teams.

Still . . .  I fear the Mules and Polar Bears at home.

I guess this is a good spot to plug that we're webcasting the game.

Amherst at Elms, 6:55 PM

Walzy, if you're at the game, stop over and say howdy.

Atnwriter,
I won't make it up to Chicopee today, but I do really appreciate the invite and would stop by if I was there.

CCsalive

Conn beat Coast Guard 53-46 in OT.
Stone: 12 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, three blocks and two steals.

In general, teams cannot expect to beat Conn scoring under 50 pts.
On a side note: Watching CC run the Princeton-O is a thing of beauty. Right now, only one team in the nation does it better and their big man's name is Roy Hibbert.

It really is a shame, that Princeton can not even run their own offense at a top level :(

Rick Vaughn

I was about to tell CCsalive how wrong he was, but didn't realize how bad Princeton was this year.  However I'm sure Air Force would take offense to that comment.

A few random thoughts on the first league weekend, Tufts has by far the most difficult task ahead of them.  Obviously they want to win the Amherst game, but that game on Friday will take a lot out of them when the game in Hartford on Saturday is more important to league standings.  I'm not saying conserve energy, but playing a team like Amherst is a task and having to come back the next day on the road with the same energy will be draining.  That said, I could see Pierce having a 60+ point weekend.

The Ephs have to take care of business in Maine because if they don't, Amherst will.

it would truly be a miracle worth investigating by vatican if the jeffs hold pierce under thirty. the numbers for the amherst bigs don't compare to his.

Another David Zaitz article (Amherst '12).  Now, if formerbant10 can give him a primer on how to adjust his game from Scarsdale to the NESCAC, the Jeffs will have a nice little player on their hands.
#3 for 3...good!

I don't know about that, Amherst and Trin are both very solid defensive teams.  But, they way he's been playing he most likely has the best chance of any.

As for Zaitz, I think he'll be just fine.  Would've loved to see him in Blue & Gold though.
