aaron smith was huge again for midd tonight... he continues to dominate the boards and shoot over 60% from the field. also harris was back for midd shooting 4-5 from the arc... look for midd to be very dangerous with smith and harris come tournament time...

Back from the Super Bowl.  Should any of you have a chance to watch your favorite team beat an 18-0 team in the Super Bowl, I highly recommend it.  Unbelievable experience.

What a stunning turn of events for Eph hoops.  What it comes right down is, they are a perimeter team that can't hit shots.  Not a formula for success.  Not really sure what happened to Rose this year, just not the same guy he was as a Sophomore (last year injuries explained it, this year, who knows ...).  Bringing him off the bench seemed like a good thought, but 5-21 is not going to get it done ...   obviously that is the biggest issue, but Schultz hasn't really had the sophomore year expected, and even Shalvoy hasn't built upon his amazing finish to last season.  Geoghegan has been great but he often has to do it alone.  Ephs are the opposite of last year, when they started horribly before coming together as a team.  The collapse the last few weeks have been rough, never though the Ephs would lose to Hamilton and Bates (which has been a big surprise ... how can they lose Ray and Stockwell and be better?  amazing), even on the road.  Battle of the two biggest dissappointments in the league today with Williams at Tufts.  It would be nice to see the Ephs rattle off a few wins now that they are playing the other conference bottom feeders, to at least get a shot at a decent seed in the NESCAC tourney ... at this point, I'd like to see Paulsen give a little more time to guys such as Rubin, Whittington, Dodson, Hardy to start building for the future and to see if any can provide a spark if given consistent PT.   He's gotta change something up because without a doubt this team has underperformed its talent level, something pretty unusual in the Paulsen era.  Really thought this was the year the Ephs returned to consistent 20 win seasons, but hey, at least Eph fans have football ...

Do they really?

Who's waiting in the wings to replace Lucey (and Andrew DeSalvo, for that matter)?

Should be a fun game today between the NESCAC's two flops.  JumboCast has the call as usual... listen for me.

Can I get an over/under on total missed threes for Tufts and Williams?

O/U 31.5 missed three point field goal attempts in the Tufts Williams game today.

i went to the CC amherst game last night. CC is a good team w/o much height or depth. Stone got them started early with 3 baby jumpers. CC was active in the 2-3 zone they play and for the first part of the half they played very well. the princeton offense is a thing of beauty to watch. they competed the entire game and will be a tough out in the NESCAC.

this is the first time i have seen the jeffs play n 3 weeks.. they are much improved. the took CC best shot in the first half and barely blinked. they are very unselfish..numerous times players passed up good shots for better shots for teammate.they appeared a bit off from 3 in the first half btu came out in the 2nd half and may have made their 4 3's.  aside from the starters they got great production from goldsmith...who looks better with each game he plays....meehan, holsey and wheeler.

walters is on a hot streak...avg. 25 his last three games....i think he should get serious consideration for POY. olson hit 3 nba range threes. baskauskas is getting better looks from the perimeter and is the best shooter in the 'cac. hopkins, jones and goldsmith share the ball and attack the rim with abandon. next weekend will be a great game against a very good team....i can't wait to see it.

Congrats to the 'Herst for clinching the #1 seed in the NESCAC Tournament for the fourth year in a row.  The Class of 2008 will never play a conference tournament game on any court besides Lefrak.

Keene St beats UMASS Dartmouth 92-85 in OT!!

both teams are dangerous and will make the NCAA tournament fun to watch in NE.

Who was that home team we saw playing at Cousins Gymnasium today? Best team effort in a long time.

Silver lining for the Ephs: Troy Whittinberg played a great game while Rose sat b/c of foul trouble. Look for Troy and Geohegan to be a powerful frontcourt tandem in the future.

If the Jeffs can take care of their business they might not have to play another road game until they get to... (I dont want to jinx it)
