Backinmyday-

Thanks for the kind words on CC. I was not at the game so it is nice to know that they battled.
Glad that you observed Bernier. He is only a sophomore, but he is a tri-captain and poised to take over the scoring and leadership reins from Stone. CC's other unsung hero is Billy Karis. Karis and Bernier both played high level high school hoops, Karis at Worcester Academy and Bernier at Bridgton (ME). Ulises Veras is an athletic reserve who will return as a senior. After these three, the Camels are thin and will rely on the development of their talented freshmen. Not sure about the recruiting class, but replacing Stone, Mosley, and Young will be difficult.

CCsalive:

The CC crowd was great.  15-25 students made more noise and had more fun then the entire home Trin crowd.  Dancing at halftime, no shirts on with chests painted C-A-M-E-L-S, lots of chants even when down by 19!  Good stuff that added to the atmosphere.  Hopefully Trinity students/fans took notice - a few tried their best but more student fans would be nice (surprising with such a successful program).

the jeffs win and ugly game. the game was uneventful. they gradually increased the lead from a good colby team. colby ran good stuff but could have used another scorer. bring on bowdoin. btw, choice had a great game and is a very good player and deserves all the credit he gets.

these are the kind of vapid, idiotic posts that we could use less of.

Dear jeffrookie/lefrakenstein,

I'd rather read stuff like this from a man who actually knows the game and has close ties to the Amherst program than the rants of some self -important twit who has never dribbled a basketball in his life and thinks that sitting behind a microphone and watching a few games somehow makes him an expert.

You aren't on the team and you don't know any of the players, so your insights into things such as who is or isn't a leader are just plain stupid, please keep them to yourself.

Pat Coleman

Ouch -- that's harsh, harsher than necessary to get the point across, right?

Probably, but somebody needed to say it.   8)

Amherst -7.5 vs. Bowdoin
Trinity -1.0 vs. Middlebury (@ Amherst)

Pat, you've made some rather glib posts of late regarding point spreads and, most recently, with what appears to be a roster member of the Amherst team (La Verdad?).

I'd like to go on record and say that it is a little unnerving. I recognize and applaud your attempts to monitor the posts, but I could use some clarification on "best practice."

Sorry to be a lame loser, or would that be La Verdad?

BillWalton

Bill Walton knows La Verdad is not an Amherst roster member....
Bill Walton doesn't know what you are talking about CCsalive: why the lame loser accusations?
Bill Walton also knows to leave Mr Coleman alone

Take this for what it's worth (which might be nothing), but at the end of this article, a lacrosse/football recruit for Hamilton says Hamilton told him the lacrosse team plans to move to a NESCAC schedule.  If that were to be the case, I wonder if basketball would go the same route.

CCsalive: I take the moderation portion of my job seriously but I know that each board has its own tone. I try to take a softer tone in certain boards the first time through. If I need to reiterate something later, it will take a more serious tone, but I have also seen the serious tone stifle conversation in some instances. That's what I'm trying to avoid.

La Verdad spoke truths. Harsher than necessary? Maybe... True nonetheless? Definitely.

Facts aren't insults.

Do you hear that? Yes, that would be sounds of silence from Williamstown... 37 points? Really now...

Westbrooks is an animal. Anyone who's seen that kid play, and knows anything about the game, can see that his defensive footwork and attitude are unmatched in the NESCAC. Big enough to handle some post defense and fast enough to lockdown almost every guard in the league. What coach wouldn't want this?

Walzy, I think your Trinity spread is a bit conservative... They won at Midd., why wouldn't they win by more on a neutral court?

Honest Question:

If you were Amherst, would you trade Brandon Jones for Manute Bol (today)?

What about Andrew Olson for Spudd Webb?

Friar T;

Last time Midd and Trinity matched up, Harris was still out with an injury.
I thought Midd would easily handle Williams, and I think they will beat Trinity as well. They have better shooters, and have an imposing inside presence. I'm guessing Midd will win, but with less than a 10 point spread. I was underwhelmed by Trinity when they played Colby.

Friar T:
It's hard to know what to write after a 37 point second half slaughter. Clearly, the Ephs never got a good team rhythm going the entire year. I Think it is very difficult for a team to adjust to the severe slump of a star player. I can't explain what happened to Chris Rose, but it wasn't because he didn't try or didn't care. The whole team seemed to go into a slump along with him, and so went the season. The one bright spot was the play of Matt Weisbrot. He finally got a chance to play for a whole year without injury and he made the most of it. Middlebury should get a bid to the NCAAs. They really do have game this year.

golflax99

Friar T:

- Also keep in mind that Middlebury has played better on the road this whole season.
- Middlebury is also coming off a game in which they shot 58% from the field versus their 36% they shot versus Trinity...
