You know what everyone, however  I think Bowdoin has a shot at an upset !!Olsen will have his hands full with Hippert. If Hippert gets hot lookout . Sarge is really a  great defender & I think Fliegel can play agains the totally overrated bigs for the LJ`s . I have never been a fan of Hopkins or Walters . I think without Olsen the POY those 2 guys are average . No question Amherst has alot of weapons & they are a great team , however the Polar Bear are playing well . I would love to see a Middlebury vs Bowdin final
bc has a shot...but they need to be better than they were the last outing b/c amherst is....the bigs at amherst are not overated in anyway. collectively they are the best the nescac has to offer. arguably, they may have the best frontline in the country...wash u, brandeis and rochester fans may disagree but those are matchups i would love to see. anyone disagree?

great job... will you be at amherst during the weekend?

Thought about it, but it's looking unlikely.  Pretty much no one else from Tufts wants to go, and borrowing/renting a car just to drive two hours each way, by myself, isn't my idea of a great weekend.

On the other hand, I'll be in Virginia over spring break visiting family.  I hear there's some kind of D3 basketball going on down there in a few weeks?
Salem is a lot of fun...maybe i will see there  ;D

Yeah... I haven't been to LeFrak since The Shot Which Shall Not Be Named either.  Good point.

And I think the women just might win it all this weekend.  I have a good feeling about them.

The Bowdoin article was very well put together and adds nice depth to the NESCAC rivalry.  It will be an exciting (long) day out at Amherst.  Strange that both the Men & Women for Amherst/Bowdoin are playing.

Having played at Midd back in the day (we were always middle of the pack) and now being a Polar Bear fan - it is an exciting weekend to see both teams doing so well this year.  I would agree with Former P Bear that I would prefer not to have to play Midd again.  Panthers can be very scary when their inside/outside combos are clicking.

I think Bowdoin has a very real chance to knock off Amherst if they can repeat a game like last week.  I don't think I have ever seen a D3 player shoot like Hipp did last saturday.  As soon as the ball was in his hand coming off the curl it was away.  It must have seemed like the hoop was four feet wide.  Amazing sight to see.

Last night I rewatched the 2/2/08 Bowdoin/Amherst game.  Although Amherst only won by 5 they did control the whole game.  That side they shot a crazy 61% for the game vs their average 53%.  The Bears on the other hand shot they season average 51%.  They are the 1 and 2 teams for best %.

With all the talk about the Jeff's bigs - Fliegel really had his way the first game. Pretty much scoring at will in the paint even with the height difference.

All told - today will be Bowdoin's day.    GO U BEARS

who would win in a game, a school at the bottom of the nescac like tufts, williams, wesleyan or colby or the womens uconn or utennessee teams?

Men's team, hands down.  As good as the women are, the physical differences are too much to overcome.

A lot of solid high school guys teams could beat the best college women, just because the games they play are so different.

The World Cup-winning U S women's team used to scrimmage (and lose to) top hs boys' teams - the differences in speed and strength were just too much to overcome.  The women were clearly more technically skilled, but ultimately it didn't matter.

Anyone else having difficulties connecting to the D3Cast webcast of the Amherst-Bowdoing game? Wonder if the servers are overloaded? The swim meet comes thru loud and clear, as did both women's games this afternoon, but my screen says Windows Media cannot connect to the server. I don't know if something's amiss with the broadcast or my computer....

Thanks. I finally got it but have no audio as well. And the broadcast stream keeps breaking up and having to re-buffer. The women's games were flawless this afternoon.

uaapride

Same thing happend to me, but once I used Realplayer as opposed to Windows Media I got the video. Was there audio for the womens games?

speedy

It looks as though Bowdoin is leading Amherst by a score of 36-30 at the half.

JustAFan

You're right--the streaming is MUCH smoother on Real Time. Still no audio, though.

wow - what a performance by the P Bears . .
