#3 for 3...good!

Hasiuk first team!  Wow, that's huge.

Complete snub for Williams... Shalvoy and all.

Nice to see Fliegel make it... he had a really good year.

Random side note... the positions listed are really weird.  Pierce is in no way a guard, and a bunch of guys who normally play center are listed as forwards.

Looks like the nescac agreed with me on Shalvoy.  Hasiuk put on a show in the tourney, so the 1st team nod isn't that much of a surprise.  You found the positions weird, but not the fact that there were 6 people on the 2nd team?  I don't recall ever seeing that before.  Congrats to everyone, esp. Flootch-man and the nino.  Now let's hope the nescac can make some noise in the tourney; I'm sick of all the nescac haters saying the only reason we get teams in is bc of how soft our region is.

on the women's side the first team had 6. i wonder how that decision was made.

Bausko was robbed. I feel bad for the NCAA field who will have to deal with his vengeance

I'm sure he's not the only one feeling that way right now.

I don't think Bausko gives a what.

I'm sure RT3 doesn't either

It's now official: Olson had a better career than Crotty. Even if Amherst fails to make it to the final four, I still give it to Olson. Let the debate begin...or should I say resume?

I agree. Olson will finish about 50 assists shy of Crotty's career total, and that can be chaulked up to not playing that much of the first 10-12 games of his freshman year. Their points total will be very close. They both went to two final fours (Olson has this year left) and won one national championship. Olson has twice been nescac player of the year, twice been sectional MVP, and was named MVP of the final four.

6 people on team most likely happend because there was a tie in votes.

I don't think stats, mvp's, etc. are a good measurement of "who is better" in a scenario like this. In my humble opinion, I think the quality of the NESCAC was better when Crotty played. I still think that the Amherst '02-03 and '03-04 teams were better than the national championship team last year. Maybe others wouldn't agree but I would take Zieja and Fitz over Hopkins and Walters any day of the week and I think this is an overall microcosm for the league. Watching Amherst-Williams-Trinity play each other was like watching an Ivy or mid major teams play and I can't really say the same for the past couple of years for NESCAC play. I think that the overall league has improved in the sense that more teams are contenders/better, such as Tufts, Midd, and Bowdoin, etc. but as far as the top teams are concerned there is just no comparison to what the league was....no offense to this year's Bowdoin, Midd, and Trinity teams. I would still have trouble taking Olson over Crotty or vice versa. My old age may leave me biased toward the older times, but I think a lot of coaches in the NESCAC would agree that the league was at its prime in the earlier 2000 years. This isn't to say that Olson would not have been very good in the early 2000s but it's hard to compare players from two different eras that, in my opinion, used to be stronger when Crotty played.

Although it sure is weird that a tie would happen for both the men and women in the same year.  Who knows... maybe they're just picking 11 people this year.

In any event, here's a Trinity feature.  Good luck to the Bants tonight against Coast Guard.

Where's Walzy with an over/under on total tournament wins for the four NESCAC teams?  Is it 8?  9?
