well kings blew out del val today to clinch the 2 seed for the playoffs, i thought del val played pretty good, kings is just peaking at the right time, similar to what the mens team is doing, i am rooting for del val to upset desales on wednesday so we can have a rematch next saturday at kings for the conference finals

:) - I love new posters providing motivation.

Playoff Seedings for the women
#1 DeSales hosts #4 Delaware Valley (6:00 pm)
#2 King's hosts #3 FDU-Florham (6:00 pm)

Enjoy the action everyone...should be a really exciting week.

kcxc09

its nothing against either team, i just dont want to travel, i know any team could win, its possible that fdu upsets us on wednesday, in both mens and womens i think any team has a chance to win and earn the auto bid, and im not new, ive been here for a while just never posted

Wouldn't that make you a new poster?

no because i posted on the board before just not on this topic

kcxc, i thought our defense was missing at the game yesterday, & King's was spot on.  Brooke Dittmar had an outstanding day for DVC.  Here's to a great week of play-off games!

Kate is always glad to see new posters. So are the rest of us.. Some people like to just review what is being said until they get ready to post.

kcxc09, welcome to MAC.

You profile shows only 5 posts so I'd consider that new, but maybe you posted under another name at another time in which case you aren't new, but how would I know that if you change names from one year to the next.

I was only perplexed by your post here cause on the men's board you talked about how great it would be to beat DeSales in their own gym, while on the women's board your rooting for us to lose on Wednesday so you can play at home for the title.  Confused me just a bit.

Playoffs are a wide open affair in my mind...I wouldn't be shocked to see any of the four teams win...they all have the talent to do so.  What's happened over the past 4 months means nothing now...all the teams are 0-0 and looking for a two-game winning streak this week to get that automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

This is always an exciting week to be a fan of Division III hoops.

while yes it would be nice beating the 1 seed on their own court in the championship game, its would also be nice not traveling and hosting the championship game, im just hoping that we actually have a good student section for the playoffs, we've been severely lacking this year compared to other years, lately we've been getting students to come to the games which i think will happen on wednesday but there really hasn't been any cheering, i would say our best student section this year of games i saw which were pretty much most home games was saturday's game vs del val when our soccer team showed up to support our women's team, too bad they left before the men's game

BJ - DSU SID

I agree with you kcxc08...I hope the students come out for all the games week.  They might the atmosphere electric when they show up and show support.

I suspect we will have a good showing on Wednesday but am fearful for Saturday (if we win) because we start Spring Break and all the students will be going home on Friday to start its week off for Spring Break on Saturday.  Hopefully enough of them find the time to travel back to campus on Saturday to support the teams (again assuming we are even playing on Saturday).

At this point playing on Saturday is entirely too premature for anyone.  In both the men's and women's brackets, I see tons of parody with any of the four teams able to win a title with two good games.

Profile also notes that poster registered in 2007.

I'm always glad when a lurker turns into a poster. Welcome aboard. Don't take any crap. :)

I didn't look at the profile - I was just going by his/her statement that they had "never" posted before.

I must have mis-remembered what never meant.

In reviewing the Stats: http://www.mascac.org/basketball/2007-08/fwb/confldrs.htm
It seems that DeSales leads in scoring offensive, defense, free throw and field goal percentage. They also have lead in steals and turnover margin. Looks like the team to beat in the playoff's. Also looks like the team that wins gets the NCAA bid, I do not think any other team will get a nod.

Good luck to all in the playoff's

kcxc09

congrats to Leigh Ann Burke of DeSales for being named a Jostens finalist today and also being named the MVP of the freedom conference, its good to see the MAC represented, seeing her play here at kings she really is a great player

Wow - I haven't been on here for a while.  I had to double check to be sure this is a MAC posting - it seems that there is one really active side of the MAC here - but the other side is absent, or just quiet!  Good luck teams!  I'm confused about the Division 4 talk??  If National titles were easy - they wouldn't be so special!  Unless there is something objective in it - like the scholarship monies (or not) that come into play for the current three divisions.  I enjoy all levels - think there will always be great programs, decent programs, average programs, and less than average programs!
