Glad to have you on board with us now Warren -  ;D

I'm "on board" as long as you and Kate accept that a couple of mighty teams do not a conference "mighty" make.  ::)

Warren, at the D3 level, don't you feel it's about the competition making the individual player & the team better?  That's why when i look at the CSAC, i'm thrilled for teams like Marywood & Cedar Crest, even tho Marywood beat us badly.  Even though this wasn't one of DVC's best years, we saw so much potential on that court, & it was just their youth (and a few injuries) that kept them out of the play-offs.  i still say it's no fun when you walk into that gym knowing full well who's winning that night.  Here's to super, healthy competition in the 09-10 season.  To all those teams lucky enough to be in the MAC play-offs, great luck!  We'll be watching, &, in the case of DeSale's probably attending the games.

Kate:

I'm for all D3 teams, regardless of the conference and level of play. While it's far from perfect, D3 is the best there is in intercollegiate competition. 'Nuff said, I think.

Now that's something I am in complete agreement with.

This Burke girl from DeSales is something else.  She does a variety of things for that team and can really score the basketball in bunches.  DeSales is going to be hard to beat in the playoffs.  I think that Mville could give them a run for their money though.  Mville is playing really hot right now and they can wear teams out.  There full court press gives opposing teams a real hard time and they are BEASTS on the offensive glass.  They had a tough loss at home to DeSales in which DeSales played great, but they also competed with DeSales on their home court.  Olivia is a dangerous threat who can shoot, drive, score, play defense, and they have also have some young talent and a deep bench to compete.  I can't wait for the playoffs already!

Mid range J, you're so lucky, you get to see your Valiants play post season.  This poster certainly hopes the Aggies will be in the play-off hunt next season at this time.  Is Manhattanville taking on the Lady Bulldogs?  If so, it's likely that we'll be hitting that game.  B'ball withdrawal sets in BIG time after tomorrow  :-\

Jon

Kate (and others),

MVille gets the Vern in the semifinals...tomorrow's results determine the location with the Valiants controlling destiny.

DSU gets the winner of the 4/5 game which will be King's/Misericordia...the Cougars control the location of Monday's play-in game.

But of course, all this information is available on PJ's Matrix!

Your lucky I can't smite John -  ;)

Kate...we'd love to adopt you for a few weeks (hopefully) as one of our fans.

Jon

CJ, John doesn't even make any sense...you should'a gone with Ron or Don or Lon or just call me the Wizard.

You're not even within 90 posts of Smite Rights.  You'll forget all about your anger by then.

kate

BJ, of course we will come to DeSale's play-off games which we sincerely hope will be in Center Valley.  Night games in Purchase, Scranton or Reading can get a little tricky with the drive.  We'll see.  Good luck tomorrow with Alvernia!

kate

Huge congratulations today to Del Val junior guard, Kim Vennera for hitting the big 1,000 point mark, & also, to our Senior Center, #40, Mandi Wilson who played in her final college game this afternoon for the Aggies!  We will miss you, Mandi, & look forward to seeing you at games in the future, & Kim, can hardly wait until November!  GO AGGIES!!!

BJ - DSU SID

Thanks for the complete schedule, BJ.  Actually, it's just nine months  :(.  Please don't negate the other three months of our grueling MAC schedule.  Of course our play-offs are important (no sour grapes here, honest), but it's really important to get into those NCAA's & beat the heck out of Scranton, Muhlenberg, Cabrini, Kean - whoever we're matched with.  ;)  My traveling buddy & i wish the Lady Bulldogs ALL the luck in the world.  It'd would be great to watch you guys win over Miseri/King's Wed. night, then watch an Aggie/DeSale's match up with the men at 8   ;)

Mville girls FINALLY have a home court playoff game..first time in a long time..

i think the alvernia game is going to be a great match-up..manhattanville swept them in the regular season but you know the old saying, "its hard to beat a team 3 times in the same season"

the last game between the two teams was odd...i believe alvernia was up 14 in the first half and went in the half with a big lead but couldnt buy a bucket in the second half while mville really hurt them on the boards and came back to win the game by double digits...

from what i remember it was a very chippy game, and it looked like some of the girls on alvernia really lost their composure..thats something they are going to want to change before they come to kennedy and endure that atmosphere!  either way, it should be a good game like every other playoff game..

What happened to the "Future of D3" thread in general topics?  Old Ends had cited a great article on ways to economize for D3 athletics which i believe appeared in a Harrisburg newspaper - now i can't find it.  Thanks for posting it Old Ends.
