Hello All - was watching The View this morning, and Whoopi gave a shout out to the Connecticut Women's Basketball Team going for the record (89 straight wins) tonight.  It's so neat to see a mainly celebrity driven show acknowledge a sport's achievement.  I sure hope my Aggies realize how much joy they bring to me & mine, especially when ya need a DEFINITE break from holiday activities.  Last night was one of those times, and for a couple of hours we were transported to the world of treys, blocks, and all ten healthy members of the team getting substantial playing time.  Thank you Aggies, and a wonderful, safe Christmas to you all, AND a Happy winning New Year!

....And good luck to our ex-MAC Royals against Kean tonight...I'm sure Coach Strong studied film of the recent DeSales - Kean....

Monday night should prove interesting as FDU takes on George Fox University in San Diego.  I know i'll be following that game on live stats.  Game starts at 8 pm.  The next game for the Aggies is with Ursinus at 7:30 Jan. 3 in Collegeville.  That game for us is a little tricky (night driving for the oldies  :(), so we see our team next when they take on Misericordia at DVC on Sat., the 8th of Jan.  Very much looking forward to that one.

Hope the FDU team made it out of Jersey before the storm hit.  Really looking forward to following the game tomorrow night on live stats - especially since there's next to nothing else going on.

spOrtsfan: I think the film he reviewed was "From Prada to Nada".

At the half, it's George Fox 35, FDU 22.  It looks like GF did their homework on Shaleah Alston.  She was held scoreless in the first period.  Not sure if i'll tune back in after the break, or watch a rerun of Two and a Half Men.  Whatever i decide to do, GO FDU!!!

kate

Came back to the game - Ms Alston came alive in that second half with 15 points, but George Fox prevailed 77/48.  GF appeared to have a huge bench, in the last three minutes bringing in five entirely new players.  They look like a force to be dealt with, that's for sure.

Another big swing game score for FDU....Seems like they continue to struggle with getting more offensive production from the off-guard position to compliment Alston. Best of luck to them against St. Mary's....

Major congratulations to the Widener Pride tonight, beating Wesley 72/70 in a thrilling come-from-behind victory!

Nice job by the Cougars of Misericordia on their win last night down in "bama country. FDU did not fair as well with another lopsided loss.  It must be frustrating for them as this seems to be a very talented team with a balanced combination of experience, skills, size and speed. What they still seem to be lacking, however, is a pure shooter on the court.

Ugh, stayed up last night only to see my two teams LOSE - first, Temple played a heck of a game, but fell to Nova 78/74, then Connecticut looked like an ordinary team going down to Stanford to break the streak.  It would have felt better if it could have been Tennessee (another favorite team).  Counting the days until the Aggie/Miseri game next Saturday.  While i'm on here, BEST luck to Kean over in Union, NJ today.  Gordon Mann has the call for that game.

Kate, I'm feeling your pain. FDU lost a tough one to Bethany Lutheran in OT....FDU took 30 more shots than Bethany Lutheran and Bethany committed 37 TO's and the Devils still lost. Aside from Brianna Nicholls who seemed to have a great game, the other FDU guards combined for only 6 for 40 shooting. Foul line shooting for FDU was less than 50% - not good !  ....While it was great that the Devils came back from a half time deficit, the saga continues: lots of run and gun, and aggressive play but no pure shooter and limited execution capability in a half-court offense.

Anyway, it's just a game, right ? Happy New Year to you and all D3hoops board members. Most of all, may the Devils have a safe return from the west coast.....

kate

Amen to the Devil's safe return, spOrtsfan - also, Happy New Year to you and all our posters, as well!  It really is heartbreaking to lose those super close games.

kate

That Kean/Illinois Wesleyan game must have been a very good one (of course i would have preferred a different outcome), but still, several of the Illinois posters were correct - to play away from home, in snowy NJ, with back-to-back games, could not have been easy.  Congrats to them, & play hard the rest of the season, Kean!  One week  to go to see our Aggies next Saturday!

Coming up on 8:10, and there are no live stats coming from Catholic for the Manhattanville/Marymount game.  Going back in now - hope they're there
