On this miserable cold night Eastern went up to Wilkes Barre & beat King's - a close score, but they won!

kate

Probably some sort of aftermath of the storm, but the FDU live stats died right before the end of the first half.  Boy, i hope they get them up and running.

Del Val hung on for a much needed win tonight, beating FDU in Madison 65/55!  Way to go ladies!!!

We sometimes have a hard time with our wireless connections at school! The whole system has been shakey lately, and the gym (basketball court) was never originally wired for the internet...

Good morning, Bill.   The stats came back on (& off occasionally), but they are still much appreciated.  Remember the days when we couldn't attend a game, & had to wait until later the next morning to catch the score?  Now, we have S.I.D.'s who post them almost immediately after the contest.  Thanks

Kate,
Gordon Mann said he hadn't met you yet, so if the opportunity presents itself at the DeSales-Del Val games today...l

Up until the last four minutes of today's game the Aggies hung real tough with the Lady Bull Dogs.  Then DeSales pulled away winning 70/61.  Brit Battinieri, in addition to being top scorcer with 28 points, broke the all time record for threes at Delaware Valley College.  Way to go #10, tho i'm sure you would have preferred that it be a winning game.  Let's Defend the House Wed. night - GO AGGIES!!!  Congrats to Eastern beating Miseri yesterday by two.

...Much credit to Kings on Saturday as they were out rebounded (25 Vs 34) & out shot by FDU (43% Vs 53%) , however,  they virtually never trailed in this hard fought game.  King's managed  24 more free throws than FDU & forced 31 Devil turnovers which had a significant impact on the outcome.  For the Devils, it was a much improved performance since the last time these 2 team met in NJ.

Also, a special congrats to DeVal's Brittany Battinieri & the rest of our MAC Athletes for prevailing through another tough competitive season. There's still plenty of hoops left, however, so here's wishing for an exciting finish. At the end of the day, every program should not only access their success on the court but also off the court & in the classroom.

Thanks, SpOrtsfan!   It's especially nice for Brit cause she missed three quarters of her junior year with a torn ACL.  We're headed to Aggieland tonight for the match-up with King's.  After that, there's just one more home game left, next Tues. with Manhattanville.  Honestly, where did this season go ???

Shante Jones eclipsed the 500 point barrier with a 31 point effort at Wilkes tonight. She had 23 points in the first half. She finished three steals short of a triple-double. Eastern won 70-58 to keep playoff hopes alive.
Though winning at Wilkes has not been the measure of greatness for teams in the freedom, but it is the sixth league win for a team that had won three league games in the previous two seasons. Their win at King's last week was the first Freedom road win in program history.

First, Chairman, i'm proud of Eastern, your new coach is working wonders down there in St. Davids.  It does look, tho as if the MAC Freedom Championship is headed toward our B'ball sisterhood from the north.  Either Miseri or King's.  If my Aggies aren't in it, i automatically switch to DeSales (from green & gold to red & blue :)), but that might not be happening this season.  Play hard against King's on Sat., Lady Bulldogs!  Remember Eastern beat em on King's home court.  We hope to be at Wilkes on Sat. for their Senior Day - Del Val has had a rough year, especially with the season ending injury to Jackie Shunkwiler.  They wouldn't want any excuses made, however, so looking forward to these last three games of the season we are Aggie Fans Forever!

Though it is not set in stone, based on the way things appear to be going down, Saturday is likely a playoff game for the Eagles. I think they can get in at 8-6, but only if they give the Valiants their sixth loss. If Eastern were to win out (did I say that?) They could finish as high as second.

Regardless of what happens on Saturday, it has been a big step forward on the women's side this Winter.
