Certainly not ONE thing against Manhattanville, but best luck to Eastern University on Saturday!  The Valiants have had their play-off chances, and Eastern should be rewarded for making the drive toward the play-offs for the first time!  They've had several impressive wins this season, & they deserve it!  They do, however, play my Aggies a week from Sat., so that game is up for grabs  ;)

O.K., congratulations to the Lady Colonels winning on their Senior Day, and also to Sam Lynam hitting the big 1,000!  Del Val didn't want to steal anyone's thunder  ;).  All kidding aside, nice win, Wilkes!  Also very happy for DSU!

A few notes:
- Misericordia has clinched a playoff spot.
- I believe Eastern is still mathematically alive for a playoff spot but it needs two wins and a lot of other league wide results to go its way.
- As for the playoff seeding, I went thru a few scenarios in my head and I am pretty sure I found way for any of the top four teams currently (Misericordia, DeSales, King's, and Manhattanville) to all earn the #1 seed or fall as far as the #4 seed.  So needless to say the games this week are very important in terms of playoff seeding.  We should know a whole lot more after Tuesday's games.

Enjoy the matrix and the games this week.

As I see it, Eastern gets in if one of two second place teams goes 0-2 and the Eagles figure out a way to beat FDU and Del Val. Eastern has split with each of the teams ahead of them, therefore they would have the tiebreaker on King's (who would be 0-2 vs Miseri and 1-1 with others) and Manhattanville, who would be 0-2 vs Misericordia). The tiebreaker against DeSales I think goes to DeSales, but I feel that the Bulldogs have a very good chance of beating either Wilkes or FDU in the last two games.

That being said, Eastern is now rooting for Misericordia to win out, and needs either Wilkes or Del Val to pull an upset on Tuesday. The first of those conditions seems possible, the second seems more remote. While Eastern lost to both FDU and Del Val the first time through, I think the difference between home and away makes two wins possible for the Eagles.

Hi Chairman!  I'd like to think of "remote" as something we change channels with, so i'm hoping that's the case for the Aggie/Valiant game Tuesday night!  Go Del Val!

Senior night tonight at Delaware Valley College - Many thanks for the memories to two lovely basketball players, Rochelle Teesdale and Brittany Battinieri.  Both women have played thru numerous injuries, and yet have shown us, the fans, some truly exciting D3 basketball over the past four years.  Best luck to them in all their future endeavors.

No help from outside sources for the Eagles, so they will be outside looking in when the playoffs start.
Nonetheless, an impressive turnaround for Coach Davis and the Eastern squad. One year removed from a 1-13 season, they have a chance to have taken a game off each team in the Freedom and to accrue home winning percentage over 90% (They are currently 10-1 with an OT loss to King's as the only blemish.). They will need to top Del Val in the season finale to accomplish those two goals.
FDU did a nice job holding Jones to 12, but she finished just four assists short of a quadruple double. The 12 pt. 12 rb. 10 steal triple double is her second triple double of the season.

Good morning, chairman - yes, Eastern has made a remarkable turn around with your new coach & Shante!  Congratulations!  Last night for the Aggies was so very emotional.  First over 300 people came out to watch their final home game of the season.  I spotted Lauren Pisano, said hi to Jackie Hartzell, and greeted the entire Vennera Family, among many others.  The place naturally erupted when Britt hit #1,000, tons of happy tears all around.  When Britt & Rochelle sat down that last time, Britt really lost it, and i remembered all the times, even through injuries when she was always gracious and smiling.  We will certainly miss her play & personality.  Ro gave it everything last night as well - she was determined to leave James Work with no regrets.  We love you Aggies!

Through some grapevines, i heard that there's a possibility that Del Val will be in a tourney come November with our dear old friends, the Lady Royals!  If so, can not wait!!!

kate

Just a possibility at this point, but if so, won't that be fun?  What does everyone else hear?

kate

Congratulations to Eastern this afternoon beating my Aggies by 18, however, our Star Guard, Brittany Battinieri, went out with a BANG with 29 total points, seven treys!  We will very much miss her on the court - she gave her all every time out.  Also i'd be remiss without congratulating Eastern's Bekah Roland hitting her 1,000 this afternoon, as well.

Sounds like it would be the Muhlenberg tourney, if true, since neither the Moravian nor the DeSales tourney would have both Del Val and Scranton(a conference member for either).

kate

Hello Ronk!  Does Moravian have an opening tourney?  You may not have known that Gwynedd Mercy will be sponsoring their second tip-off in November.  Last year GMC, Moravian, Del Val, and the fourth team escapes me at the moment, but the hosts prevailed in their own tourney.  Why does November have to be so darn far off??
