Thanks, spOrtsfan!  The way the Phils and Yankees are playing right now, it does look like it could be a Fightin's/Bombers World Series!  Thank heavens for sports - really makes time fly.  It'd be nice too, for us anyway, if the Sixers could go beyond one series & out, but that's very doubtful.  Soon, we'll have our b'ball schedules to discuss - looking forward to that for sure.  Thanks, again

Stevenson University in Owings Mills, Maryland and Hood College in Frederick, Maryland are joining us in the MAC.  Have to read further, but WOW!

sp0rtsfan

Welcome aboard to them.....Interesting additions to the MAC....Hope the price of gas is lower than now by the start of the season....Also, based on last year's records, seems like women's hoops may not have been the forte of their athletic programs....Hey, but 'ya never know....

Howdy, sp0rtsfan!  Thought i'd hit the computer before going out to work in the yard, and saw your post.  Hood & Stevenson appear to be headed to our Commonwealth side, tho that would make it very lop-sided.  Actually Hood looks very nice.  They're building a new gym on the campus (they had been playing at a military facility).  Best of all, they're located off beautiful Route 15, yes, it's a haul, but what a gorgeous ride.  Route 78 morphs into 81 in Harrisburg, and right after crossing the Susquehanna River, there's the 15 exit.  I even read what the Stevenson coach wrote about his seniors graduating now, and you could tell he's a very kind person.  We shall see how all this plays out.  Hope your Spring is going well - for me, yard duty is calling  :D!

Except for the Phils dropping two in a row, this was a great sports weekend - Boston sweeping the Yankees, and even better, the Bull winning their opener over the Traitor and the Miami Heat!!!  ;D

GO Phils! and GO Bulls!  The last four days have been extremely painful for Phillies fans.  Professional hitters "Hit" for a  living.  Let's hope they get the message.  Six more months til tip-off.  This weather doesn't help anyone's mood either.  Hope all posters are enjoying our damp spring.

Good morning, Ronk!  GMC was what i had heard - it's tough, cause if the opening game is Friday night, the traffic down there in Montgomery County is crazy, and i'm too old to handle it (it wasn't a piece of cake last year making the Sat. game).  So, if it does come to pass, that U of S would be meeting DVC Friday night, we'll miss it.  It does give us all something to look forward to, however.  Thank heavens for the Phillies starting play shortly.  Makes the summer fly!

Kate,
Your grapevine source has been affirmed; it is the GMC tourney to which the Lady Royals have committed.

kate

Hello, Ronk! Obviously you have an inside track there; do you happen to know if DVC plays the Lady Royals on a Friday night?  I don't have that info.  Darn it, if they do, like i said in that previous post, we can't make it.  Haven't checked the GMC site yet, so i should head there, as well.  Thanks for the update!

ronk

No, I didn't press my source on who the other 2 teams were or what the 1st-round matchups were; those questions r left as an exercise to keep u out of trouble during the offseason. ;)

kate

Aw, Come on, Ronk - you know i mean no harm :-\, well i do get mad just once in awhile  :D.  Anyway, it's just a darn shame that today's players don't know about that MAC rivalry.  I honestly still miss you & PlayBall.  If i had to guess on the teams for GMC's Tourney, i'd say the Lady Royals, DVC Aggies, and possibly, Lyco.  We'll see.  Can't wait for the Sat. games - we'll leave super early from Easton.   Schedules show be coming up in the next month.  Always look forward to seeing them all!  Please keep posting!

Northern Lehigh Forward/Center, Lauren Oertner, headed to Misericordia.   Congratulations to our two beautiful seniors, Brittany Battinieri and Rochelle Teesdale, graduating this morning from Delaware Valley College!

Hope everyone had a meaningful Memorial Day weekend.  Very anxious and excited to see who will be named as head coaches at Arcadia and Wilkes Universities.

Warren,

From Arcadia's Women's Basketball Site.

Crystal Gibson steps down as Women's Basketball coach at Arcadia University
GLENSIDE, PA:  (May 24, 2011) -  Arcadia University Director of Athletics Shirley Liddle has announced that Crystal Gibson has stepped down from her position as Women's Basketball head coach after serving in the position since the 2008-09 season.   Gibson will conclude her three-year tenure on June 10 and will become the head coach for Women's Basketball at Division III, St. Mary's College of Maryland.

Over her three seasons on the sidelines for the Knights, Gibson has helped to stabilize and grow the women's basketball program in the Middle Atlantic Conferences' highly competitive Commonwealth Conference, helping the program achieve their first league win during the 2010-11 season.    She also served as the University's Assistant Sports Information Director and advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

A search for her replacement will begin immediately.

Hello, mytwocents!  Did you think Warren would be "shook up" if he saw my post?  You mean Everyone doesn't check all our MAC websites almost daily  ;)?  I saw that Crystal was going to a good school, and we certainly wish the best to Rachel, so i didn't think the post would generate any anxious moments.  Still can't wait to see who ends up where!

Hi Kate,

Hope you are enjoying the warm weather.  When it comes to MAC sports you are the guru. If someone needs to know up to date info at a school chances are you know the answer. :)  Have a good summer. Take Care
