Correction: 6 players at FDU with remaining eligibility did not return to play this season; 3 would have been seniors.....There's probably an assortment of reasons..

Trenton Central was the HS of 5 of the new recruits. Perhaps a Fab 5 in the making ?  Trenton Central was ranked 12th, overall, in NJ last season and was 26 - 2. They were very obviously a very good team but were beaten pretty badly by the eventual TOC winner, Trenton Catholic. ...Just the same, 2 excellent hoops programs in the same town ! There must be something special about the water in the Trenton area  !  Ha !!

The d3hoops preseason All-American Women's teams have been announced and the MAC is well represented.  Shante Jones a junior at Eastern University and Christine Marks, a senior at Misericordia have both been named to the Third team.  Congratulations to both - it's been fun watching you play so far in your collegiate careers.

Not only was DeSale's picked to lead the MAC for the 11/12 season, but they've got their roster up!  Eastern is picked to finish second.

kate

Delaware Valley College now has their 11/12 roster up!!!   Also, Wilkes.  Holdouts:  Manhattanville  and Misericordia.

kate

Misericordia has their roster up, and it's darn near doubled from last season.  They did very well with what they had in 10/11 and for this year they are losing just one and returning pre-season All-American, Christine Marks.  Should be a very interesting year in the MAC Freedom!  Incidentally, Manhattanville is the lone hold-out for their roster.  Is their new point guard from suburban Philadelphia?  Just wondering.  Ten more days!!!

Two huge games for us Saturday afternoon - first and foremost, the Aggie women in the Championship or Consolation game of the GMC tourney at Gynnedd Mercy, AND the Aggie playoff football game with Norwich University at Del Val.  Either one, GO AGGIES!!!  (we will do the basketball game, of course  ;))!

An early congrats to FDU for their 11 point win over neighbor school, St Elizabeths College....Many different faces on the Devils, however, same style of play as last year - very aggressive, but reckless, on defense and offense. As in the past, a poor shooting percentage and the lack of  3 point artist may continue to hurt them when they need a big shot.. ..On the flip side, their athleticism is an asset and can make them a tough competitive squad aka shades of a typical pseudo Vivian Stringer team... ....

Best of luck to the rest of our MAC teams. Go hard and stay healthy !

Hello Sp0rtsfan!  Congratulations on the Devils first win last night - the MAC had a 4 and one showing in their opening games - not too shabby!  We handled St. Mary's of Maryland, but they were without their leading scorer, so i'd like to wish them best luck with their season in the CAC.  Next up for DVC is old foe, Scranton.  We're playing in the Gwynedd-Mercy Tourney Friday night & Sat.  You are so right, play hard and PLEASE stay healthy!!!

kate

Would be remiss if i didn't list the things that made the Del Val home opener great, first, new uniforms, next, the national anthem song live, and finally all healthy members of our new roster got to play!  Anxious to see everyone on Saturday afternoon at GMC!  Good luck Aggies!!!

At the Gwynnedd-Mercy Opening Tourney tonight, the first game, Delaware Valley College 53, The University of Scranton 48!  Sensational game by the Aggies, fighting back from a fairly large first half deficit.  Congratulations - we'll see you all in the Championship game tomorrow!!!

kate

Sorry for the double here, but just have to add that it was a tremendous team effort tonight by the Aggies.  Also, sorry that i kept misspelling "Gwynedd" - GMC had a terrific video feed and an enthusiastic announcer!

Kate,
Your Aggies refused to wilt from a double-digit deficit, battled back with an effective press, and held on for a nice win. Frosh Brenna Coll looks like a good 3-pt shooter. Be looking for you, tomorrow. You could even catch the 1st half of the football game.

kate

An absolute perfect Aggie basketball day - Congratulations (big time  :D) to the Del Val Women, winning the Gwynedd-Mercy Opening Tourney 66/62!  Brenna Coll was on the all-tournament team and Emily Soper was named Tournament MVP!!!  Also the men's team won in their consolation game at the Widener tourney!  It was especially appreciated when U of S's Ronk came over at the half of the GMC game & introduced himself.  We really are a "D3 Family".  GREAT way to spend a Sat. afternoon!  Major congrats, again to Del Val!!!

First, just wanted to wish everyone at the site a very Happy Thanksgiving!   In particular, i'm giving thanks for my Del Val Aggies who won their fourth game in a row last night at Rowan 75/62.  A little far for us to travel, especially at night, but Rowan had a video feed, which broke up a bit at the half, so watched live stats til the end.   It was a total TEAM effort with names too numerous to mention, but our starting five consists of one senior, one junior, and THREE freshmen!  Our bench participation was seamless and the entire game was a joy to watch.  We'll see everyone at that first league game on Wed., the 30th with King's at home.  THANK YOU, AGGIES!!!
