Great all-around game tonight as the Aggies beat Wilkes 83/65.  Em Soper had a monster game, but everyone contributed. Brenna Coll had 16 points (don't know that for sure, as the live stats didn't live), and Brit Battinieri had nine assists.  I like it especially when different players step up on any night - keep em guessing, Aggies - Congrats!!!  Also have to give a shout out to ESPN radio out of Williamsport and their announcer, very good!

Another win for the Devils...Looking good...Pressure defense prevails again..... I don't see any reason why this squad can't nail the 4th spot for a play-off berth - will certainly be in the mix with DeVal & 'Cordia for that slot.........Kings, Eastern & DeSales seem likely to get the other 3....

A very disappointing loss for FDU today against  'Cordia. This was a game the Devils  needed to win, especially  since it was a home game ...Discipline and court savvy prevailed over speed and athleticism...

Seems like the whole Aggie world comes back for the Del Val/DeSales game (not to mention that Coach Hogan was going for win #200).  The Aggies had it tied with like 6 seconds and the Lady Bulldogs drove the length of the court, missed their first shot, then i think it was Grant who had the putback at the buzzer for a 76/74 win.  The Lady Aggies played one heck of a game from start to finish, so i'm just gonna say good game ladies, and you'll try to get em in Center Valley!

Major congratulations to Del Val Women's basketball Coach, Laura Hogan winning #200 tonight against a scrappy Salisbury University team in Doylestown!  Way to go Coach!

Aiming for game number three of four in an eight-day stretch tonight when our Aggies host Manhattanville for a 6 pm start.  Sure hope that forecast for Saturday is WRONG as they're calling for snow - we always look forward to that trip to Dallas for Misericordia, but not when the weather's iffy.  As always go Aggies!

kate

Absolutely LOVE it when we get 20 points off the bench as Del Val did last night!  Just a great all-around win at James Work, and now, Saturday on to snowy Wilkes Barre for a 1 pm tip-off with Misericordia fresh off their own big win against DeSales.  GO AGGIES!!!

Forgot to mention a really nice live rendition of the National Anthem at last night's Aggie game just added to the over-all enjoyment of the evening.

Two random thoughts here this morning, first, my heart goes out to the members of the Women's Basketball team of Kean, win out Ladies!  Next, on a completely different note, Stevenson and Hood are joining the MAC this summer for the 12/13 season, and i'd like to know if anyone has any idea how they will be distributed in the league.  Will the Freedom take one and the Commonwealth the other?  This has to be already discussed, but as of now, i've haven't read anything.

Kate - what happened with Kean? Was there some sort of event that just happened, or are you referring to the bizarre NCAA violations?

Good morning, Bill.  Kean dismissed Coach Michele Sharp, and reassigned her in the athletic dept.  Her quotes sounded as tho she was quite upset, but overall my sympathy goes to the team.

Kate - Hood and Stevenson will join the Commonwealth Conference for all sports. It will be a 10-team league in basketball. My understanding is that there is consideration to expand to the playoff field in the CC from its current four-team format, but I haven't heard if that's a done deal yet.

kate

Thanks for the info, lvcsid.  There must be a valid reason for the conference to be lopsided in the coming season, but 9 and 9 would be awkward, i suppose.  Again, thanks for the quick response.

Literally by the skin of their teeth, King's held on to top spot this afternoon in the MAC  beating Manhattanville at the buzzer by two, 51/49.  The team from Purchase played one heck of a game!

Going 9 and 9 would presumably imbalance both conferences' scheduling. Why mess up two when you only have to mess up one? But I think the bigger thing is geography - both Stevenson and Hood are down in Maryland, much closer to the Commonwealth schools than the Freedom. Going from Hood to FDU or any of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre schools would be a haul. Heck, Stevenson is closer to Widener than Messiah is.
