We've released our list of All-Americans. Congratulations to Kyra Dayon, who is the first All-American from FDU-Florham, and Dori Gyori.

First, Happy Easter to all here at the site, and next, a major bit of recruiting news.   Bangor Area High School's 6'1'' center, Morgan McCollian will be playing for DeSales in November, according to the Express-Times!   This was announced in this morning's edition.

Just listened to Dave McHugh's interview with Vice President of D3, Dan Dutcher.   It made me so very proud to say that i'm a D3 follower, and a huge MAC and Delaware Valley College fan!   It was mentioned that a new location for the Women's Final Four might be in the future, so i would love to recommend, Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA.   A great location, one that we've come to thoroughly enjoy visiting over our 15 years of attending d3 women's basketball!

Then tell Lebanon Valley and even the MAC to put a bid in for it! :)

Now, the LVC Gymnasium is too small to host the event (1,650 according to the website), but the Giant Center (Hershey) or Hersheypark Arena could be better... though they still both seat WAY too many for women's basketball (7,000+ for both if you only count the 100 level at the Giant Center). Women's basketball needs a facility that seats about 3,500... men's: 5,000.

Well, Hope is the only place with that kind of capacity that has hosted the event since it went to neutral sites. Leb Val is bigger than Virginia Wesleyan, where it used to be hosted, for example.

Is there anyone out there missing b'ball as much as i am this morning.   Outdoor work is calling, but i'm sitting here wondering who Del Val's new recruits might be.   Also wishing the VERY best to our two magnificent seniors graduating on Sat., Amanda Turowski and Emily Soper!   Very, very much looking forward to DVC's opening tourney at Lebanon Valley.   One of our absolute favorite places to spend a couple of days!   Here's hoping Mr. Andrews took my letter to heart to have a final four in Annville!

ronk

Kate.
Who r the other 2 teams in the LVC tourney? Are u going to ferret out the new schedule postings as u have in the past?

kate

Hi Ronk - I wish I knew who the other two teams were, but I don't.  Yes, I plan on doing the usual research.  Have a great summer.

kate

Have to admit that visiting the sites of our fellow MAC Freedom schools is fun here in the off season.  I definitely didn't expect any 2013/14 schedules to be up yet, but heck, it's a rainy morning here in Easton, so just thought i'd check for any early surprises - none yet of course!   I will keep visiting  ;)!

kate

Maybe there's more, but God bless Wilkes, their 2013/14 schedule is up!!!!!   January 8 at 7 pm,  Ronk, the Lady Colonels are playing the Lady Royals at Wilkes Barre!!!

kate

Hadn't checked our Commonwealth side, but just did, and Messiah 2013/14 schedule is up!!!   I'll be checking more often now that they've started!

Just had to discuss something i read in this morning's paper about the president of Ohio State University, Gordon Gee, and his comments about the teams of the SEC and Louisville.   Quote "we have to make certain that we have institutions of like-minded academic integrity, so you won't see us adding Louisville or the University of Kentucky either.   Apparently, according to the paper, the comments received laughter.   I darn well hope it was nervous laughter, as there's one thing i can not stand and that's ANYONE putting down ANY other school's academic credentials!   Glad Jim Foster moved to Chattanooga back in March!   Ohio State is finished with me!  The article was from the Associated  Press out of Columbus, Ohio in this morning Express-Times, lehigh valley live.com.

How about him disparaging the priests at Notre Dame?

Kate,
Thanks, Wilkes played so well in beating the Royals last year that I thought they'd be a contender in the Freedom conference, but they only won 2 games. Royals have posted their conference schedule, but not the non-conference.

kate

Howdy NEPAFAN!   My D3 radar settled right in on "like minded"  ;) - hey, at least i can "joke" about it now.   That article was amazing on many levels - still can't believe a major college president could articulate like he did.  Thinking those things is one thing, but to say them - whew!   Not good.
