Perhaps a NYU type of LVC-esq team will show for up the tourney in PR.

Say what?

Sportsfan-

There are some new recruits...but the biggest news is probably the addition of transfer Shalette Brown (from Montclair St.). She was the NJAC/ D3 hoops Atlantic Region rookie of the year....when you then also factor the possible return of Brianna Nichols (in January), this could be a very exciting season in Madison this year...

Bill,
Yes, Brown will be an awesome addition to the Devils' inside game and, on the flip side, a huge blow to the highly ranked Redhawks.....Nichols is a force as well.  ...The team's "D" will be great again too....Let's see who's put on the court to knock down the long rage shot.  Looking forward to a great season. Too bad MSU was not on the schedule.

Warren,
Pardon my typo...It should have read..."a NYU type OR (not, OF)" ....LVC = Lebanon Valley College...The statement implied the strength of schedule for non-conference games did not seem like a tough one for FDU...But one never knows, season to season..

Three weeks from tomorrow  ;)  - very soon rosters will be appearing, right?  Lebanon Valley has theirs up right now.

kate

King's has their roster posted!  Two weeks from Friday - out of Easton and on to Annville to watch our Aggies take on Baruch at 8 pm.  First game at 6 features Lebanon Valley & Neumann.  Getting anxious, for the Aggie roster, too!

kate

Eastern & Wilkes - rosters up!  Happy Halloween fellow posters!  How about those Sixers last night?!?

kate

Was on my way out the door for the previous post, but FDU now has 2013/14 posted.  Btw, Wilkes roster has six post players, two 5'10, two 5'11, one 6'1 and one 6'3.  That doesn't always translate to success but it sure couldn't hurt.

Kate,
You've identified a condition that's popping up in the Mid-Atlantic area ;). I refer to it as the Muhlenberg Effect(recruiting every 6-footer in the region).  I talked with Coach Rohn about it this summer at an AAU tourney when I noticed he had 10 such players on his roster. So, it makes sense that his former assistant, Coach Heery, would adopt it at Wilkes. Look for it to pop up at Scranton this year as we've just hired one of his former players as our new assistant coach.

Miss you as a Scranton poster, Ronk!  (miss Scranton, too)!  An interesting sidenote to your post - the new Wilkes assistant is a Muhlenberg grad!  Just can't wait until the 15th!

Yes, I met her last month at a tourney; she was with our new coach as they were teammates @ Muhlenberg.

DeSales has joined the ranks of "roster up" !

There's only 1 frosh but 3 new transfers coming to FDU ? Interesting..

kate

Than you Matt - Del Val's roster is now on their website!

FDU fought tough against their DI alter ego, but lost 92-81.  They had some size that proved very difficult to deal with!

Sports fan - about the roster - yes, there's only 1 Fr....but it's a weird point in the program. If you look again, there are still only 2 Sr.'s on this year's team. There really wasn't a place for that many newcomers. However, there are 11 sophs and Jr.s. I believe next season will be the big "make or break" recruiting year for new freshmen. If we're fortunate enough to have another strong year on the court, it could help cultivate a nice incoming class next year!
