FDU fought tough against their DI alter ego, but lost 92-81.  They had some size that proved very difficult to deal with!

Sports fan - about the roster - yes, there's only 1 Fr....but it's a weird point in the program. If you look again, there are still only 2 Sr.'s on this year's team. There really wasn't a place for that many newcomers. However, there are 11 sophs and Jr.s. I believe next season will be the big "make or break" recruiting year for new freshmen. If we're fortunate enough to have another strong year on the court, it could help cultivate a nice incoming class next year!

Wonder what's up with FDU junior Erika Livermore, last season's team MVP and leading scorer/rebounder?  She doesn't appear in the box score... injury?

Hi Bill,
Your point is well taken and it's a good way of looking at the logic.  I've been following the game for a while and it's unusual to see a team with only 1 frosh.

I think the transfers should be able to give solid depth to the roster .The starting pg was really missed for a few games last year so I would guess one of the guard-transfers will improve the pg back-up role or a returning player may have improved enough to get the job done ...I expect it should be another great year for the Lady Devils. If speed and athleticism were the only components needed for winning, I don't foresee another MAC team beating them.

Roundball - not trying to be a wise a**, but who are you talking about? We don't have anyone named Erika on our team, and that certainly wasn't our MVP last year !

Sorry, my post wasn't very clear given the subject matter :)

She's the junior center on the "DI alter ego"....

Misericordia has their roster posted.

Roundball - ahh, I see now. I have no idea about the other school...we're basically two separate universities that share a common name and board of trustees. Other than that, I couldn't even name more than a coach or two at the other school. We even have different admissions standards and costs, but that's another post :)

Congratulations to all our MAC teams for their wins this weekend and even tho our Aggies lost both games (the one yesterday in OT), we had the best time ever in Annville at the Lebanon Valley Opening Tourney!  Seeing old friends, our spectacular weather and the beautiful Leb Val College campus combined to make great memories!  Del Val has a good solid starting five (and a bench :)), so they will be cranking out some wins - Go Aggies!

bill

All right Devils! a tough 8+ hour trip this weekend was rewarded with another 2 wins....good job, ladies!

One incredibly great night for basketball!  Moravian @ DeSale's, men & women; Scranton @ Cabrini, also men & women and Arcadia @ Del Val, men - computer gets a workout!

Kate, now those are games I can get excited about...

To all Posters: Here's a hearty best wishes for a happy and healthy Thanksgiving Holiday; hope everyone can be with family or friends.

Ah the memories for FDU fans, playing the ex-MAC team right down the road!  Nice win, Devils!  After what seems  like an eternity, DelVal opens League play this coming Wednesday Night with King's in the traditional Women's & Men's double header.   Really getting anxious - we haven't seen them play since opening weekend.  Watching the Rowan game on the computer was great, but not Nearly as good as being down in Doylestown!   Go Aggies!!!

bill

The FDU Devils started off conference play with a nice win at home over DeSales....
