Lady Royals to host!!! They may be knocked out in the first game...but, the NCAA made the right choice by having the games played in the best facility with the best atmosphere for all these young women from these four great schools. That said, Scranton has much to do to prepare for Rochester's perimiter game...it will be raining 3's. on Friday.

kate

Saratoga, DO NOT say that you will be "knocked out in the first round"!  i mean it when i say that i truly want the rest of the D3 Women's Basketball world to know what  the remainder of the Freedom League goes through with you guys  all regular season.  BRING that TROPHY HOME, PLEASE!

saratoga

Kate: You misunderstood me...I'm not implying that Scranton will be defeated on Friday...I was merely stating that regardless of what may transpire in this game, the correct choice was made by the NCAA committee to hold these games at Scranton. Trust me, I have all the faith in the world that the Lady Royals will be ready...as they have been for the last 20 years or so. By the way, I'm quite sure all the girls & staff appreciate the support of great fans such as yourself as they head down the home stretch!

Tonight at 7 pm, i'll be hunched over the computer listening to the Lady Royals win over Rochester.  Yes, you'll undoubtedly think "wow, she has WAY too much time on her hands", but i like to scan the Widener site once in awhile cause of DVC alum, Alisa Di, and they have the BEST picture of the team, in the snow & it's adorable.  Again, all the best to Scranton & their fans tonight!

It's 7:15 pm and NO sound coming from the Scranton radio feed - darn it

kate

Competition getting tougher, but Scranton pulled it out - congratulations on the 66 -63 win tonight.  By the way, the sound eventually came in after the half.

I'd like to thank d3hoops for broadcasting the Rochester/Scranton match.
The game was to be aired on WUSR but as usual, technical difficulties wouldn't allow local fans of listening, unless, of course, they wanted to hear nothing but dead airwaves.
What a joke, but many of us have come to expect no less from that station.

Pat Coleman

Well, I'm glad that we were there to serve but feel bad for Dean Corwin, if he wan't on the air, because I know he works hard and does the job well.

Trust me, no knock whatsoever on Dean. I've told him several times he's like a breath of fresh air compared to the students that used to call games. I'm sure he's fuming somewhere right now, but they did get on the air sometime during the second half.
I was already locked into the internet broadcast on d3.
I also suggest John McGraw drink plenty of tea and honey. Doing a twinbill solo will wear out the voicebox in a hurry. ;D

Way to go Lady Royals on advancing to the Final Four with a 50-41 victory over    B-W.   :D

I will be making the trip up to Springfield.  I hope to see a lot of support!!!

Once ya got rolling in that second half, you were gold Lady Royals - the 50-41 win gets you guys into the final four.  Baldwin Wallace played a heck of a first half, but your depth worked well in that second - congratulations!

Scranton's game against B-W was one of the ugliest offensive games I've seen.  The bench really came through for the Lady Royals tonight.  They deserve alot of the credit for the win.  Those people that said Coach Strong made a mistake by going 10 deep most games were wrong (at least tonight).  Without that experience, they may not have been able to bring Scranton from a deficit to the lead.  Both teams played hard and represented their schools well.  Hopefully Taryn Melody will have some time to rest her obviously injured leg and be ready to enjoy success at the final 4.  Congrats to the Lady Royals and the coaching staff.  Best of luck next week.  We're all pulling for you!

P.S.  Kate, you are an asset to this board.  You bring knowledge and class.  Thanks for rooting for a team that isn't yours, but helps the league look better.  Keep up the good work Kate.

It may not have been poetry...but, the Lady Royals dug down & played exceptional defense against by far the toughest team physically they've played all season. The fact that they played earlier in Vegas had to help in preperation of what they were going to face. Tremendous help from the Scranton bench as mentioned earlier...when many of us were going nuts with the absence of Taryn & Allie & not much of an offensive flow...these ladies clawed their way back into the game & left it there for the 1st. five to secure. Casey Thran (Connecticut College's loss) has certainly been our gain...as she was relentless on D & also scored some very timely hoops. Steph Remington hit the biggest 3 of her young career & what can you say about the only 2 seniors, Erin & Kelly...once again leaving everything they had on the floor. Not too bad of a start for the soph. class...2 trips to the Final Four in their two seasons...and what a turn-around for Casey, going from traditional NESCAC also ran to the Really Big Show...great job Ladies & special thanks to the UofS student section for their very loud & enthusiastic support...look out Springfield!!! Hi Emmie, wish you were here...but, I know you had a great time in New York with mom at the shows on Broadway...c u tomorrow.
