Roy-A,

I don't want to call you out or anything but just curious why you follow the women vice the men's team. You can respond via PM or not at all if you rather not say.

I've been friends with Mike Strong for over a decade. As for the mens, I lost a lot of interest after Bess left.......

After Bowdoin getting upset, and loosing their 76 home court winning streak, can anybody tell me who is next in line.  I think Scranton has won 55 in a row at home.

Pat Coleman

I counted 56 going back through our scores but there might be a neutral-site game that wasn't properly marked, or I could have miscounted.

For what it's worth...right now at 11:49 pm. on Fri. the Lady Royals of the Univ. of Scranton SHOULD be the new # 1 team in the country...IF they take care of business at home tomorrow & knock Desales back down the pike. It should happen...but, will it? Stay tuned, as Bowdoin lost on Wed's. & Rochester just got hammered at Washington. The Lady Royals control their own destiny.

Pat Coleman

Perhaps, Saratoga, but if my only choices were two one-loss teams and one of them had beaten the other head to head ...

Perhaps...but that loss was ions ago & Rochester just lost to essentially an unranked team. Granted WU has a great history...but, what have you done for me lately? If the rotation is true to established form, should Scranton win tomorrow they have to be the new #1.

Well, what I think we've all seen is when a particular team has lost a game...regardless of its ranking...the next poll had them losing a minimum of 1 spot, if not more depending on who they lost to. Scranton started the season #1...proceeded to lose their annual 2nd. game of the season, this year to Rochester & they were dropped down & rightfully so. Hope was # 2 for a number of weeks, lost at home & dropped 2 spots to 4. Not that it really means a whole hill of beans at this point...but, I really do feel it's been pretty firmly established over time that should you lose...you fall back a spot or two. Therefore, based on this fairly regular pattern, both Bowdoin & Rochester should drop a spot & Scranton...if they win today certainly has as a legitiment claim to the top spot as anyone. That said, I certainly get the impression I have an idea where your vote may be headed. ;)

I wouldn't discount Hope as a possible number 1, either.  They have one loss to a highly ranked team and are defending national champions.

With that in mind...

No. 3 Scranton 36 DeSales 32 - HALF

Williams (Scranton) and Lutz (DSU) are both out with injuries.  That's especially troubling for the Bulldogs since Lutz is their leading scorer (17 ppg).

No. 3 Scranton 69 DSU 68 - Final

After the Lady Royals opened up a 10 point lead with under four left, DSU rallied to make it interesting.  The Bulldogs got a late three from Burke to get within one and had two shots with under 20 seconds left to win.  Neither fell.

Neither Lutz (DSU) or Williams (Scranton) seemed to return in the second half.

DSU had 23 turnovers including 21 steals by the Lady Royals.  They increase their home winning streak to 57 games with the victory.  The last loss came, I believe, to DeSales on a D3hoopsNet doubleheader way back when both Antolick sisters were playing for the Bulldogs.

Interesting game in Scranton earlier today....Not really sure how to add to that.
Scranton  69
Desales    68

A hard fought game from both squads although I kept thinking Scranton was going to put the hammer down and either  Desales would not let them or ????

Gordon you are correct, neither KirbyLutz nor Tiffaney Williams returned after their injuries.
Williams left with what appears to be a sprained ankle. Lutz,I beleive went to a local hospital. If anyone knows the extent of either injuryplease share.

Unless, of course, Hope loses to Albion (9-7). :)

The press release put on the D-3 site by Desales regarding this game is totally bogus & inexcusable...you lost...tough game...each had a starter that means quite alot to their respective teams out virtually the same time...get over it. A freakin "hush"...give me a break!

Hi Scranton posters - i had a gut feeling that DeSales would give you guys a tough time this afternoon - i truly hope that both players are O.K. & can resume play this week.  Del Val also sent Stephanie Fanto to the hospital in Williamsport this afternoon - she reinjured her shoulder.  Get better Steph!  Wednesday night it would be nice to say Hi to fellow Scranton posters - who knows when  you will be playing at DVC again.
