Spell check of the mind - was grocery shopping this afternoon, thinking about Barbaro, thoughts went to Del Val, then my post, then "synical" hit me right in the face - i know perfectly well that it's cynical - ugh!  GO DEL VAL!!!!!

Whoever is within a 2hr ride from Scranton tonites game against Kings has the makings of a great game.

kate

i'm absolutely sure that your game tonight with King's will be a barn burner - we'll be doing quite a bit of rammin around with a DVC non-conference game with Ursinus tomorrow night & heading to Wilkes on Sat., but we'll be anxiously checking the scoreboard.  After waiting so long for this season to start, it seems totally incredible that there's just five league games left.

kate

It was a barn burner with Scranton coming out on top - you guys will so miss the MAC Freedom competition!

Kate: After the tightness of the past few games, I'm ready for a Landmark moment. By the way, how about those kids at Drew knocking off Desales tonight? Breathing room is a good thing!

That sure was a fun game to watch last night. In my opinion Kings is 1 yr away from making a serious run in the NCAA playoffs.. Very talened team and they are certainly playing well under coach D.  As for the ref'ing in the game....WOW....utter catastrophe. For both teams.  We got away with stuff we should not have and Kings as well, then we both get called for things that made no sense....Oh well,,,we may play Kings again this season after all, especially with Desales loss last night, Kings and Desales will be plaing for 2nd place and a home game in the Freedom playoffs...

Kate will your team be there???????

kate

That's the $64.000.00 question - how about those Rangers is right!  No breathing room for my Aggies - gotta win out, & that's easier said than done in this league.

kate

When i said "win out", i was not thinking about the DVC - Scranton game at the Long Center - that would be a major miracle :)!

Pat: Just for the record, I think your comment that the way Washington Univ. was playing against NYU  tonight was reminesinent of the way "Scranton played against Washington"...was a little bit of a cheap shot. I mean at least Scranton gets to the Final Four...and quite a few teams became fodder for the Wash U. teams of the late 90's. As they say in politics...bad publicity is better than no publicity...and by the way, as to your question as to whether or not Wash.U. is the real #1...I don't think so. Your disdain for the Lady Royals is becoming a bit too transparent. As Tug McGraw once said, "You Gotta Believe"!

Well, we were talking about great teams that became fodder for Wash U like Wash U was looking against NYU -- not just random teams. So for Scranton to be mentioned was a reference that even great teams still can look bad.

Pat: Thanks for the clarification...I was hoping that was the true direction of your analogy.

For those junkies that are interested, I spent my spare time last night (while watching Jack Bauer try to save the world) creating what I will call the Freedom Conference Playoff Matrix.

I borrowed the template from a friend (thanks Bunker) and it outlines the current standings, upcoming schedules and current records vs. each conference opponent.  It is designed to help those who like to try and figure out the Freedom Conference playoff scenarios.

My hope is that I will have time to post this after each set of games is played and if I have the energy, I'll post playoff clinching scenarios at the bottom.

Until then enjoy my creation and the end of the hoops regular season.

Follow the link below for the matrix

Whoa, & the Landmark League thinks that they're "cerebral" - thanks, i think :(!

kate

Cunningham & Kraft played one heck of a game for Drew tonight, but the Aggies prevailed 84 - 81 in an overtime thriller.  Everyone of the DelVal team stepped up, & it felt so good to see em pull out that close one - GO AGGIES!!!

Combo of Lady Royals' win and desales loss tonight seems to clinch homecourt for the conference tournament for the Royals.
