I don't know about you, but most people around here consider me to be pretty snooty! :D

[Really? I thought snoots were virtually extinct in the Mid-Atlantic Region.]

And I've been told, one of your basketball assistants is leaving for a DIII school in the greater Richmond area.  I wish him only the best, and I'm sure you'll miss him as we do here.....

[Yeah, J-D is departing for R-MC. I fear Mike Rhoades is ratcheting-up his recruiting efforts for this area.  :( ]

At least you guys have a good sense of humor about all this.  Unlike a certain SID that does not speak on behalf of his employer.

*Disclaimer: Please do not interpret my post as stating the official position of E8Nation on the sense of humor on this board.  I speak solely in my individual capacity and in no way in my capacity as Chairman of the Board of E8Nation.*

Listen up, Viper. D3 competition, like life itself, is far too serious a matter to be taken all that seriously .... ;)

[Had I actually taken myself all that seriously, I wouldn't have survived even five minutes in the classroom.   :P]

Join us Warren and keep us all on task.

[[Keep y'all "on task"? How do you suggest I do that? I'm hard put to keep my first-grader grandson on task. ;) BTW thanks for the +k.]

How about Billy Donovan's sudden change of heart?  Word around here is that Donovan decided the Magic weren't a like minded academic institution, what with the high school kid and all, so he is going back to UF.

Royals bball schedule is up on school web site; room for 3 more games; no Kings yet.

How is FDU going to do in the revamped MAC?  I know they were young and came on at the end of last year.  I think the coach will bring them to the top of the league.

kate

Heatlee, FDU sure did come on like gang busters last season - Emily Cerankowski is from Notre Dame of Easton in my neck of the woods & she's an outstanding player.  Thanks to Widener for having their schedule up - i see that my family & i will be able to watch them at the DeSale's Starters Pub Tip Off on Sunday, Nov. 18th - looking very much forward to seeing Alisa Di & her Widener Pride play there!  Of course Friday & Saturday, we'll be in Selinsgrove watching our Aggies!

Just an observation here, within an easy 40-minute ride from our house, there are four D3 colleges, all in different leagues.  Cedar Crest in the PAC, DeSales with us, Muhlenberg in the Centennial, & Moravian in their new Landmark League.   The first three seem very well suited, and, of course, the jury's out with the new one.  Just an observation.

kate

Seems like there's league changes in D2 as well as our own.  Mercyhurst & Gannon will be the first private schools to join the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference in 08-09.  Interesting.

kate

Hope everyone has a great & safe 4th of July!   A little less than four  & a half months to go!

kate

As per Pat's headline story, it's very sad to see the demise of a women's basketball program.  Here's hoping that for every one shut down, two more start up.  Heck, i was upset when the MAC stopped sponsoring wrestling.  Long, long live D3 sports - of every nature!

If you live in the Easton area there are five NJAC teams within a 60 to 90 minute ride.  TCNJ in Ewing NJ, NJCU in Jersey City, WPU in Wayne, Kean in Elizabeth and Montclair in Montclair.  You also have Centenary in Hackettstown and Stevens in Hoboken along with Drew and FDU which you are already familiar with.

I grew up about 12 miles east of Easton in Mansfield twp and the whole area of west NJ and eastern PA is loaded with D-3 programs, and some good D-2 and D1AA programs.
