Tough to say where Rookie of the year will go. I think Roland has carried EU all year (unfortunately, that is usually to a very competitive thirty minutes or so and not to a win. The Eastern team went from being non-competitive in the PAC two years ago to being in nearly every game for a pretty good stretch in the Freedom. Roland is a big part of that, but I'm not sure a kid on a team with just a couple wins will get rookie of the year.

A huge Double header in Doylestown on Sat.  Kings vs. Del Val with playoff implications all around.  It is also Coaches vs Cancer day at James Work Gymnasium...donations will be accepted at the door.  Meaningful February basketball for both the women and men has not happened for a long, long time.  Those of you who travel around to the best games of the day...I'll see you at DVC.

Huge indeed.  Playoff matrix for those wanting to see where everyone stands heading into the second-to-last regular season Saturday.

Well, for all you rabid Monarch fans out there who never post, your Lady Monarchs beat my Aggies today soundly, 76/60.  Again the guys got revenge (barely) 81/80, i believe.  Happy Valentine's Day to everyone reading this, & for better or worse, we'll see everyone at Center Valley Tuesday night.  It's the Lady Bulldogs Senior night.

And that folks is what's so great about the MAC, Albright knocking off Messiah today in OT - nothing against Messiah certainly, but BOY!  Two big wins for Albright in one week!

Senior night at Desales will be bitter sweet.  Burke and Rarick will go down as an "all-time" MAC tandem.  I will miss watching them do their thing.  However, I will stand up and cheer on Tuesday because that will be the last time DVC plays against those two.  A sidenote to that game will be Kim Vennera's journey to the 1000 point club.  The Del Val Jr. is 35 points shy with 2 games to play.  She hung 43 on DeSales in January...doubt Coach Richter will allow that to happen again.  Although, against Vennera, you don't always get a choice.

Hello Tribehoops!  i would respectfully submit the DVC tandem of Jeanne Waznak & Alisa DiBonaventura as one of the most fun back courts to watch tear down that court - Jeanne was a tremendous shooter, all 5'2" of her!  Alisa lead the country in assists.  They were a joy to watch!  LeighAnn & Kim have been the heart & soul for the Lady Bulldogs for four years, & i'm sure that Tuesday night will be emotional for DeSale's.

Jeanne and Alisa only got to play along side each other for two years, As Alisa arrived to Del Val before Jeanne's Jr. year.  Burke and Rarick have started and played together from day #1 freshmen year until today.  Both back courts are/were impressive.  I'm sure there are plenty of others to be mentioned.

I am probably a bit biased...but I have seen the Rarick/Burke tandem play 95% of their games over the last four years.

I can't think of a tandem I'd rather have in my backcourt and I have seen some really good players in my day.

Not only great players but two of the nicest people to ever put a DeSales uniform in any sport.

I will certainly miss both of them.

Likewise, I am probably at bit biased ...however, I think the Taryn Mellody- Allison Matt backcourt combo when Scranton was still in the MAC Freedom was pretty special. Two Final Fours, an Elite Eight & a Sweet Sixteen I believe. Not too shabby & great young ladies as well.

Hey, there is no crying in the d3hoops.com Freedom chat room!

No tears...just lots of fond memories with more to come I hope.

Saratoga: I did not mention Matt and Melody, not because I'm unsure of their worthiness, but because I thought Melody played more of the 3 (wing).  I think someone else started at the 2.  Please enlighten me.

ronk

It's debatable whether Mellody played a 3 or was 1 of a 3-guard offense because Erin Healy played as a shutdown-defender guard rather than what's referred to as a 2-shooting guard. A less-arguable duo would be the Kates(Pierangeli & Dougherty) from 2001-4 who had more starting minutes at the positions and comparable stats making up defensively what they may have trailed in offense.

No problem, but I swear I heard some sniffling.

It was probably Cold Case crying over his Colts.
