Kate,

Sure was/ is an enjoyable evening trying to watch/ listen to all of the game links offered on the net. I agree Widener gave Rochester all they could handle. Congratulations to the Pride on their Commonwealth Conf Crown. I was a little disapointed in DeSales. They were in another close game until NJ made a nice run at the end. DeSales had no answer for Hillary Klimowicz who just destroyed them inside.  She and LeighAnn Burke are definetly All-Americans.  Looking forward to the Messiah/Thomas More game tomorrow.  Take care.

One word, whoops, probably can't say it on here  >:( - at least TCNJ won by two over Tufts.

kate

Almost forgot, congratulations to the Lady Mules & Coach Ron Rohn for winning yesterday, & heading to the Sweet l6.

Anyone reading these posts can probably tell i'm suffering from severe b'ball withdrawal, but i suppose i'd be a real heel if i didn't congratulate the Lady Royals.  Scranton remember your roots.  Also, since i'm not logged on to a wrestling site, congrats to Del Val's 184 pound wrestling Champion, Mike Wilcox, who was also named Outstanding Wrestler of the 2009 D3 Tourney.

As the winter sport's calendar at DVC is finished, i would like to commend Matt Levy, our Sport's Information Director, for a fantastic job in keeping everyone up to date with write-ups on all our b'ball games, very timely headlines on postponements & re-scheduled games, & just very good solid reporting on not just the b'ball, but the wrestling, plus the updates on the residual fall sports news.  Thanks, Matt - believe me, it's appreciated!

Kate,

I don't believe Matt is karma-capable, so I'll give you +1 on his behalf.

DVC has rasslin?
The person who says something can't be done shouldn't stand in the way of the one who's doing it.

Hello Lefty! - Yup, fifth in the nation at the recent D3 Wrestling Championship Tourney held last weekend in Cedar Rapids, Iowa  :D - thanks for asking!  Hope the Misericordia spring sports are all going well!

Kate,

I'm aware of Del Val's outstanding wrestling program.

I had a very pleasant visit with coach Marshall several years ago.

Congratulations to Del Val Junior Guard, Kim Vennera, named to the D3 Hoops All Region Third team - Way to go, Kim!  Can't wait until November!!

kate

Just announced, the 2008-09 Winter season MAC Sportsmanship Team's Award, & the Del Val basketball squad's award goes to Freshman guard, Britteny Zimmerman!  Congratulations, Brit!

kate

Typed in haste, that's "Brittney".   Miss you all!!!

kate

Off the subject of D3 a bit, but wasn't that a tremendous win for Rutger's Scarlet Knights last night?  Boy, it'd would be incredible to see them possibly go the entire way.  Probably not with Connecticut looming, but they're lookin great at the moment!

kate

Of course, that's "Boy, it would have been"  :D   Don't know how this flew under the radar, but hugh congrats to DeSale's graduating guard Leigh Ann Burke, named to the D3 Hoops First Team All American squad!  There's a ton of competition, so that makes it extra special.

kate

Hurry up Sunday for that Rutger's/Purdue game - GO Scarlet Knights!  If anyone reads or hears of players coming to our MAC schools, please post.  We changed papers from the Morning Call to the Express-Times.  The Express does not carry as much PA college news as the Call, so any tidbits would be appreciated.  i did read that a good guard would be going to Leb Val.  Sixer's won last night  :D!

BJ - DSU SID

Kate...I am curious.  Why the change of newspaper from the Call to the Express-Times?

I am curious because I report DeSales athletic news to both on a daily basis and wanted to see which you liked better and why?
