Good morning!  No Aggie news here, however before all you know what breaks loose with rosters, schedules, etc. i was just thinking about all the players we've seen who are now in the coaching ranks.  Kate Pierangeli Pearson (Scranton) now head Cabrini coach; Crystal Gibson (LVC) head coach at Arcadia; Lorie Khalil (Moravian) coaching at Centenary, Rachel Hartung Emmerthal (DeSale's) at Wilkes, & our own, Alisa DiBonaventura at Widener.  Does anyone know what former King's star & Keystone coach, Carissa Ryan is doing now?  Out of coaching perhaps.  On a completely different note, it nice to see Drew on the FDU schedule!

Kate,

All of that means one thing - you are old.
The person who says something can't be done shouldn't stand in the way of the one who's doing it.

kate

Verrrry old Lefty  :D - this is year 12 for us following Aggie b'ball.  We now have an announcer & live stats, which as we get older & older  :-\, come in very handy!  Nothing, however, beats going to a live game!  Go Aggies!!!

kate

Elizabeth Demko, a Notre Dame of Green Pond grad will be playing b'ball at King's.  She's a 5' 10 forward, & a two time All-Colonial League selection.   The article appeared in this morning's edition of the Express-Times.

kate

Nothing b'ball here, although seeing that the CUA team played in Ireland last week was cool.  After seeing the Phillie melt down tonight, honest to Pete, i'd rather see Jamie Moyer as our closer as opposed to that "guy" who absolutely lost it for em in the ninth.  As a closer he should be FAR more cool & collected than he was just now - UGH!  National ESPN audience tomorrow at 8 - regroup & beat em bad Philadelphia!

kate

Well, the Fightin's won, but i went to bed before they resumed play, & was happily surprised this morning to read that Ryan & Happ took care of Atlanta business   :)!

So kate, what do you think of Pedro?

kate

Howdy Grove!  Actually i was kind of surprised that Pedro was a little shaky in his start (probably because there was press there from around the world practically), but if the Phils hadn't scored that many runs for him, who knows?  Of course the man is a legend as far as pitching goes, & he said himself that he'd work on the areas that are needed, soooo, i'm thinking ALL good thoughts!  Do you agree that between Hamels & Lidge, we just don't have quite the pitching that we had last season (not to mention Brett  ;)).  Cliff Lee must feel like he's got a lot on his shoulders.  Keep hitting men!!

TheGrove

Too many injuries for the Phils' pitching staff, fer sure. I hope Pedro pans out... he may have gotten a W but I'm still worried about his durability. Of course we're already halfway through August so he doesn't have too far to go...

kate

The thing is, we're going to need him the most in post season - that is, of course, saying that the Phils will be  there - they'd better be!   The longer they can play into the fall, the quicker the Aggie B'ball season will come - just a little leaf raking in between  :D

I have to say with school starting I am getting real excited about Basketball preseason being just a short time away..Cannot wait to see the girls in action since a long time away.  I hear its going to be a rebuilding year for kings, maybe even with the Coach!!  Word around wilkes-barre is that the girls and administration is not happy with Mr. Donoghue.  Anyone know of anymore details on this issue?

kate

Good morning oldretiredfan!  Really can't help you with any King's info, but in this morning's Easton Express-Times, they state that FDU has a new coach, Marc Mitchell.  Interim coach, Jenn Noon will become associate director of athletics.  Welcome to the MAC, Coach Mitchell.  Hope to hit the DVC campus on Saturday afternoon when Aggie grad & Widener head coach, Alisa DiBonaventura will be inducted into the Del Val Athletic Hall of Fame.  The football game features Johns Hopkins & the Aggies.

Kate:

I was going to post the message about Alisa in case you didn't know.  Figured you'd want to be there. :)

kate

What a great Aggie Day!!!  Saw Alisa Di & her parents, Coach, assistant coach, John B. & many other folks at the DVC/Johns Hopkins game. Del Val won!  Alisa was inducted to the Del Val Hall of Fame at half time.  Like i said, What a Day!!!  Just another little note, it was very good to see Dr. & Mrs. Leamer at the game.  They were tremendous fans of all Aggie sports, & he has been retired now for at least two years.  Very classy.

kate

Does practice actually start next week!?!  Getting closer, people!  Under the "General D3 issues" thread, Point Special references a quote by Gregory Sager that should be framed & hung in every division 3 locker room in the country - it's great, please read it.  Last, on this incredibly windy day - GO PHILLIES!!!
