   Kate,
I saw their next opponent(defending State champion Mt. Lebanon) win a multi-state tournament last summer and they will be a formidable foe.

Hello, Ronk!  We're just so darn proud of Jackie, getting her team to the finals of the Quad A PA championship!  We might add, we're also proud of ALL our MAC & former MAC participants, Kate Pearson & Alisa on the college level, & those we're not currently aware of on the assistant ranks at colleges & the  coaching ranks at high schools.  It does make us feel old, but it's still a great feeling to say "we saw em play"!  P.S.  Our very own Jen McCarthy is one of our DVC valued assistants!

Well, Kate, there's feeling old and then there's really old, as in one of the prospects I was following this year was the grandchild of my college coach. A generational gap of the 2nd level.
As for coaches, Kelly Lewandowski of the MAC Lady Royals, made it to the sweet 16 as an assistant with Gettysburg this year, losing in OT.

Couldn't find Jackie Hartzell's e-mail address anywhere, so on here i just want to say BEST luck to Coach Hartzell tonight as her Archbishop Ryan Ragdolls go for the Quad A State Championship!  We'll be watching on PCN at 6 pm

Ronk, you are so right - Mt. Lebanon is just scary good.  Arch Bishop Ryan hung in there for the first half, & then the Blue Devil's defense went into high gear.  Congratulations to them, and to the Ragdolls of Arch Bishop Ryan and their coach, Jackie Hartzell!

A scary piece in today's paper - The University of Pittsburgh announced that their three sophomores have left the Women's Basketball program.  You can always see one leaving for financial reasons, injury, or academic problems, but all three - too bad.

Jamie Moyer--2010's answer to Jesse Orosco (only Orosco spent his most of his career working out of the bullpen-- :D

Happy Easter to everyone at the site.  Last night was disappointing, especially Duke beating West Virginia.  Butler is so amazing, that it's hard to not root for them, although we were pulling for Michigan State.  Anyway, the women's tourney is tonight, & truthfully, i'm just not that enthusiastic about any of the teams, so we'll just say something safe like "Go Connecticut"!  :)  Hey people, the Fightin Phils start tomorrow at 1!

kate

Yes, the final score announced that Duke beat Butler, but as far as i'm concerned, that was NO loss for Butler - they played one incredible game!!!  GO Connecticut!!!  How about them Phils yesterday - have to admit, i spent that magnificent afternoon glued to the TV.  Thank heavens they're off today so i can get some work done around here  :D

47?  Is that as high as he got on the radar gun?
The person who says something can't be done shouldn't stand in the way of the one who's doing it.

It's great to see Del Val's Women's & Men's Track & Field squads doing very well this school year.  They've made wonderful showings in their last several meets.  Also, congratulations to Del Val guard, Brittney Zimmerman receiving the MAC Sportsmanship award for the team.  Also, congratulations to Missy Milanese & Stephanie Kraemer for making the MAC Academic Winter honor roll for the season.  The Phillies are helping us through basketball withdrawal, but we miss everyone!

kate

Sorry, no basketball news here, but isn't like somebody flicked a switch "off" for the Phillies offense  :-\?
