Just a bit of b'ball news here in Easton - Dianne Nolan, an assistant coach at Yale, was named as Lafayette College's new Head Coach.  About that baseball game last night, i hope that Madson & Contreras feel like garbage because Kyle Kendrick pitched one magnificent game!  Then to have Billy (Wags)  >:( Wagner get the win - just too much.

kate

Just want to sincerely thank DelVal's Matt Levy for the live stats of the home Aggie softball & baseball games this spring - it helped in the transition from b'ball still keeping us connected to DVC sports.  Great job, Matt!

O.K., no b'ball news tonight, but how about that Philly game last night being televised to the entire country?!  Couldn't have planned it better myself - when the crowd got behind Jamie at bat, & then he walked - priceless!!!

I wanted to pinch-hit for Jamie; good that Charlie Manuel didn't listen to me.

Congratulations to Delaware Valley College's Bethany Pavlik, recipient of the MAC Field Hockey Scholar-Athlete Award!  She has been an outstanding representative for DVC during her four years there!  Great softball player, as well!  She will be missed.

Kate,
Before your time, but I just heard that one of the all-time Phils(Robin Roberts) died today. He's the leader in most home runs allowed in the majors, but Jamie's only 7 behind and will pass him by the end of the month ;). Robin was a good hoopster also at Michigan State and I used to watch him play with other Philly stars during the winters in exhibition bball games.

Hello Ronk! It's really dating me, but we bought our first TV in 1950, & i promptly became a huge 7 year old Phillie fan.  Even at that age, i realized that Robin was special.  This September i'll celebrate 60 years of fandom (at least i hope it's a celebration  :)).  The Phillies have had some exceptional players on their rosters, & Robin was definitely one of the best!  God bless him, & GO PHILS!  Doesn't Jamie pitch tomorrow night?

Anyone know about MAC recruits, especially MAC Freedom.  There hasn't been anything in the Express-Times (except for Lehigh) regarding who is going where locally.  Also, i'm wondering about the MAC in general, what's going on in the end of the year meetings - hopefully no more defections - right now i think we're a strong & well known league.  We're also fortunate enough to have all of us in rather close proximity.  It would be GREAT to stay that way.

What a truly magnificent day for the Delaware Valley College graduation!  Just want to congratulation our two seniors, Kim Vennera and Lauren Pisano on this day & wish them much love and luck.  Please don't be strangers - would be very happy to see you at games this coming season.  Again, hearty CONGRATULATIONS!

King's has their 2010-11 schedule up!

kate

Impressive - Baptist Bible College's new head coach, former WNBA player, Amber Jacobs.  This is the best time to be checking websites for schedules up, & coaching changes - seeing who winds up where.  Also, forgot to mention that Scranton is on King's 10-11 schedule  ;)

kate

After a pathetic weekend of Phillies baseball, i am very happy to announce that Arcadia University has their 10-11 schedule up on the website.

Just a thought  on a beautiful spring day here in Easton - been following all the boards this spring, and i'm sorry, but i feel that the five MAC teams leaving had really diluted our base here on D3.  The MAC teams are still as well represented on the national scene as well as individually, but there's no back and forth (good natured & otherwise) anymore.  Where is EVERYONE????

Kate,
The only one I know is Messiah coach Mike Miller's daughter is going to play for him after considering Scranton. She attended same high school as current Lady Royal Emily Rainey.
As for the lack of discussion, it's generally weak across most of the ladies' boards, including the Landmark, and especially during spring/summer. There is some on the CAC and CSAC boards, but that's about it. The fightin Phils will have to carry you til November.

kate

Good Morning, Ronk!  The way the Phils played last night, i just hope they can carry themselves to Nov. :'(  Thanks for the info on Coach Miller's daughter.  That's the only Commonwealth team i can remember Del Val not playing.  They seem to be a team like Scranton - always strong.
