The aforementioned shut-down defender was in foul trouble. Those fouls were accumulated trying to stop Jones, who is about three inches taller, stronger, and quicker. When she was in the game, DeSales ran double teams at Jones to try to get the ball out of her hands. Eastern was able to get her the ball enough for her to take 11 second-half shots.

Of Eastern's seven second half turnovers, five resulted in the ball being inbounded- two travels/carries, twice the ball was knocked off a player out-of bounds and a shot-clock violation. Without offense from their pressure defense, DeSales struggled to generate points, and that was a big difference in the game.

DeSales was in position to win the game late, but they were unable to convert on a couple key offensive possessions late.  I don't know who they typically look to get those points, but when the Eastern team played man, Jones matched up with Lidlow.

It will be interesting to see how long the Eastern team can ride their current streak.

For Mr. Coleman .......
Lidlow's Dad, nope. Sorry about that. Wasn't at the game and don't know who guarded who. Any time Eastern beats DeSales, its a big win for Eastern. From the box score, the Eastern guard had a monster game. Congratulations to her. Also, from the box score, Lidlow only played for 19 mins. Not sure why. Maybe foul trouble ? My previous comments were only based upon the games that I have been at. Will have to make an effort to get to the game, the next time DeSales and Eastern meet up. Looking forward to the remainder of the season and to see what insighful comments Mr. Coleman has in his future posts. Maybe Mr. Coleman should make an effort to see our Mac girls play sometime in the future ? GO MAC Basketball !

Mom, then, perhaps.

I have seen my share of MAC basketball but now living in the Midwest I only see it online.

Seriously, though -- we value all posters but let's be up front about who we are. Sometimes it's so obvious that another reader can point it out to me without even being able to see a user's IP address.

Good afternoon and a belated Happy New Year to all!
I have been a fan of this forum since my daughter Lori was a college freshman. Kate, Ronk, et al....I like your enthusiasm and love for the game. Kate, you are always quick with congratulations and kudos to all, even when it's not your Aggies.  I have never before posted here and had no intention of doing so.  However, Mr./Ms. Coleman seem to think I am posting under another name. I assure you it is not me. Although I am my daughter's biggest fan (her father and brother might think they are  :)) I would never post about her achievements or shortcomings. That is not my nature. I am also aware that bball is a 5 member team sport, therefore 5 people contribute to the win or loss on any given day.  If I feel the need to express myself I will do so under my own name.   As for yesterday's game.....it definitely was not Lori's best showing on many levels which is why she did not play many minutes.  Congratulations to Eastern.  I would hate to see this forum turn negative, especially related to my daughter or our family name. Hoops4life seems to be a DeSales fan....I just hope he/she keeps it positive. After all, these young ladies are just that.....young athletes working hard in a sport they love.   Kate, Ronk, etc.....keep the positive vibes coming!!!! If you would like confirmation as to who I am, come up and say hello at a game....I'd love to meet you.

So that you all know, I am a former AAU coach of Lori's. I am bias to Lori's ability. I enjoy posting on this forum and try to stay positive. So now, whenever I decide to post again, everyone will know that Coach Al is Hoops4lfe.

Using two usernames (one from your mobile phone, very clever) to post and converse with yourself is expressly forbidden by the TOS. It's been years since we've had anyone even try to do that.

I also see the history of each username, you know.

Ok. Last time I will address this as I do not wish to fall into an endless argument. I don't know you, Pat. You don't know me.   Whatever codes, numbers you're looking at, I post from my iPad.  You probably also have my registration info.  Email me and we can continue the discussion. Whatever your disagreement with Hoops4life, I respectfully request that you leave my name out of it.  By the way.....this is my second (and hopefully last) post.

BJ - DSU SID

For the record I really am BJ, the DeSales SID.

I have met Pat on several occasions (back when he lived in the Mid-Atlantic Region) and even sat with him at a game that he did play-by-play for and I attempted to provide the color commentary (probably not very well). I am very thankful for the job and exposure he creates for Division III basketball and many other Division III sports.

It is a great service this web site and your staff does to promote the student-athletes that compete on the Division III level.  You truly are the ESPN of Division III sports.

As for the Bulldogs it was a tough, tough loss on Saturday, especially after leading by 15 points late in the first half.  I do recall DSU starting last season 1-3 in the Conference before not losing the rest of the way.  So don't count us out yet,  ;).  Or I guess I should say, please take us lightly the rest of the way, we could use an easy win here and there.

FYI - Playoff matrix to come soon.

TraceyL,
If Scranton and DeSales happen to make it to the NCAA this year and get placed in the same pod, then I'll probably be there(unless the men are playing at the same time) and I'll look you up. I introduced myself to Hannah(we're from the same hometown) and her mother at the Tipoff Tourney this year so I'll be following DeSales via videocast even if I don't make it back to MAC land(I live down in Alex Chili land now- is DeSales videocasting that game tomorrow nite?) in the regular season.

I appreciate the combo of talent and effort that your daughter exhibits. Good luck in the regular and post season. I expect Coach Richter will make sufficient adjustments to take care of the Eastern threat in subsequent meetings.

BJ - DSU SID

Ronk...we have entered the world of "videocasting" this year and all games (men and women - 26 of them total) are videocasted for FREE to all watchers.

This is our first year doing so...I hope you get a chance to watch tomorrow's DeSales/Muhlenberg match-up and if you do, don't be afraid to send me your thoughts on our production.

I am looking for any feedback I can get so I can make it better and better each year as the budget allows.

BJ

BJ,
Thanks, I thought u had said that earlier in the year, but tomorrow's game didn't have a 'V' in D3hoops' sched. Hope ur place is overflowing 4 the game.

kate

Yes, good luck tonight to DeSales - it's the BEST when we beat "out-of-league", especially ool ranked  :)

kate

Wow, just read that Amherst & Kean will be playing a last minute unscheduled game (due to prior cancellations) at Kean Tuesday night at 6 pm.  GO Kean!!!

kate

Truth be told, i'd rather have live stats most of the time over video.  For the life of me i can't get the Rosemont video up, tried the Marywood video - same problem - at least live stats, boring as heck, are predictable.  Eastern ls's have a great running commentary, so they're fun.  Right now, i'm annoyed.

kate

Hubby got the game on our new computer - Rosemont won in OT 82/78.  Good for them ( bad for us).
