So darned spoiled, it appears as though Penn State Brandywine has no live stats, so i'll have to stay up tonight to see what happened with the Aggie game.  Really looking forward to Wed. night's tilt with King's - first league game - should be exciting!

kate

King's beat Widener tonight 82/75 - look out DVC, every one of those players can put the ball in that basket!  Should be quite a game on Wednesday night!

kate

Some really big games tonight to kick off the 11/12 MAC Commonwealth and Freedom leagues.  Messiah at Lebanon Valley, Eastern at Manhattanville and King's at Delaware Valley - GO AGGIES!!!  Also Widener plays Alvernia  tonight, just read it & can't remember if the game's in Chester or Reading.

PS That Widener/Alvernia game is in Chester.  Also, in a non-league game Marywood (CSAC) and University of Scranton (Landmark) play at U of S.  Lots of great games!

Listened to the Messiah LVC game.  A frustrating 7 point loss by the Falcons in a low scoring game.   Their lack of offense is still a major issue for whatever reason.  Tonight's culprit was very poor shooting. 30% against a quality team is not going to get it done. They had the looks and shots (over 60) but still cannot put the ball in the basket. 4 for 17 from behind the 3 point line? Good luck Falcons on the rest of the season and lets hope everyone gets healthy and all sharpen their shooting skills.

Great, exciting Aggie/King's game last night.  DVC came up short, three points, 59/56.  The Lady Monarchs could have pitched a tent at the free throw line, they were there - A LOT & making them, too.  People did get their money's worth.  Eastern really beat Manhattanville up in Purchase.  The Aggies play Eastern Sat. afternoon - GOOD LUCK!!!  It's so great to be back in the swing of the season!

Deval Vs Kings certainly seemed like it was thriller; what we expect from good MAC competition....

On the Jersey side of the river, if there was ever a time when FDU could upset DeSales, this was it....Then again, DeSales had 26 more boards than the Devils even though FDU took 8 more shots. How does that happen ? The trend continues as street-ball style play will only take a team so far at the college level. At some point, the squad needs to make their shots i.e. 23% shooting % and 12 / 29 from the stripe in this game...On the bright side, they did force 32 TOs......Good defense ? Hmmm. Not so sure ..Opposing teams have hit for a combined 42% FG % against them...

Kate, just an FYI. King's is averaging 31 free throw attempts per-game so what you saw in that game is indicative of how they play. They go to the basket hard and have several different players on the team that play that same style. They are being rewarded for being aggressive. You can always argue when one team shoots more FT's than the opponent, but when one team consistently gets to the foul line - in both home and away games - it is not by accident. The down side is they are only making 60-percent of those shots. They only made 62-percent against DVC.

The Messiah ladies at 30% last night? That's far from the shooting accuracy I've come to expect and fear in many years of watching LVC go against the Falcons.

Busy day here in the household, but how about Misericordia coming quite close to beating LVC, AND DeSales's found their mojo beating Kean last night!  Looking forward to a Christmas break in the action on Saturday as my Aggies take on Penn State Wilkes Barre up there in Lehman.  Please send search party if we're not there by 1  :D!  PS, i'm referring to a break in My action, not that of the Aggies!  Good luck next week with exams to all our D3 players!!!

Kate...was starting to worry about you.  No posts since December 1st prior to today.  Good to see you are OK.

And yes those Bulldogs are getting better.  We are still without our PG (Hannah Smith) but the other players are stepping up and getting better each game.

  BJ-SID,
Is Hannah injured? I noticed she wasn't in last nite's boxscore. We have the same home town in common and I met her at last year's Bulldog tipoff tourney. She's a valuable backcourt performer.

BJ - DSU SID

Ronk - yes she is injured.  I don't like to talk or speculate on length of time missed, so I won't start doing that today.  But I will say we are hoping to have her back at some point during the season.

And yes she is without question an immeasurable piece to our puzzle.  She doesn't score a whole lot of points but she NEVER turns the ball over.  She is a human press break and without her we have struggled to hold onto the ball (although we are getting better in that area in recent games vs. two nationally ranked teams - Muhlenberg/Kean).

Yes, i know the next three weeks will fly by, but we'll miss seeing our Aggies play until January 2 at the winter Moravian Tourney.  Good luck with exams to all our D3 players, please get healthy to all players injured or sick, and let's look forward to exciting league play in 2012!  Hope everyone's Holidays are absolutely excellent!

I had an opportunity to interview Eastern Head Coach Nate Davis and Preseason All-American Shante Davis this weekend. The interview is posted off the front page.
