Misericordia handed King's their first loss and how about FDU beating Eastern tonight!  Amazing MAC!

sp0rtsfan

Agree...Nice win for FDU on Senior Night....Congratulations to their lone senior who had a great game and contributed to the win.....

Any word on why Shante Brown was not playing for Eastern last night ?

kate

Shante didn't play in the DelVal/Eastern game either, dressed for play, but remained on the bench - injury?  The page has turned on here, so just wanted to congratulate Del Val Junior, Emily Soper, on hitting the big 1,000 last night in the Aggie loss to Manhattanville.

Meghan Nowak reaches 500 points in her freshman season. She has shouldered an enormous load on offense in the past three weeks.

Kate- Shante was not at Del Val. Her last game in uniform was at home at Manhattanville.

Good morning, Chairman.  I could have sworn that that was Shante warming up on February 4, but not playing.  It is an amazing job being done by Frosh, Meghan Nowak.  Eastern is lucky to have her.

A special congrats to Eastern's frosh sensation and also to DeVal's Emily Soper for 1000 points......At this point, I'm planning to make the trip to Doylestown tomorrow for the Aggie / Devils game. Kate, will you be the one with the big poster GO AGGIES ??

kate

Hi Sp0rtsfan!  We always sit in the bleachers across from the team benches.  I wear my Aggie tee with a long-sleeved forest green shirt.   Our Aggie colors, forest green & gold  ;), however no gold on me!  Senior Day is really emotional, & this season is worse since we're not in the play-offs.  I suppose we'll root for DeSales in said play-offs, although King's assistant coach Katie is a Belvidere High School grad (my alma mater).  Really looking forward to tomorrow afternoon - hope to meet you!  Btw, the gym is usually super warm.

sp0rtsfan

Ok, Kate. Good deal....Will look for you in the bleaches across from the Aggie bench...Agree, Senior Day is special. The FDU athletic administration has always done a great job with honoring these players. I'm sure DeVal does the same...

Congratulations to Messiah's Dori Gyori on reaching the 1000 point club in her junior year.  Messiah is enjoying a good season despite injuries to some key players. Best of luck to all the Falcons the remainder of the season and remain healthy.

Hello and congratulations, Sp0rtsfan!  It was very nice meeting you at the game this afternoon.  FDU has a good, fast team there, actually fun to watch unless they're beating us  :-\!  However, we really hope that you get an ECAC game and smash your opponent!!!  Mighty and competitive MAC!!!  Darn it, DeSales will be traveling north Wed. night - good luck to them.  Just realized that if King's wins that the MAC Freedom Championship game will probably be next Sat. night up in Wilkes Barre.  Boy, it would be GREAT if the powers that be would have an afternoon championship game.  At any rate, the next eight months better fly by!  Best luck to our four fabulous seniors, Britt Battinieri, Jackie Shunkwiler, Sarah DelCasale and Melissa Weil!  Love & miss you all already!

Kate,
Del Val is one of 17 schools to declare for the ECAC-South, so your season might not be over. 2 of the 17 are likely to be in the NCAA, so the chances are 6 from 15.

lefty2

The Freedom Championship game will likely be an afternoon start.

You need to finish at .500 or better during the regular season to qualify for the ECAC's.
The person who says something can't be done shouldn't stand in the way of the one who's doing it.

Hello Ronk!  Thanks for trying to help me feel better on this day after our season is over!  You're a good person, and yes, we still miss Scranton & Drew!!!   Lefty, Hi - thanks for the info on the MAC Championship game.  We love that drive to your neck of the woods.  Believe it or not, the last time we were there this season was the Del Val/Wilkes PS game on Dec. 10th.  Wouldn't mind heading up to give the eventual MAC Champions a heart felt send off to the NCAA's.

sp0rtsfan

Yo Kate, likewise. It was great to meet you and your husband.  Perhaps you are the real-deal sportsfan and not me. You really do have a special passion for sports, all sports, both men & women programs.

As for the FDU / DeVal game, truth be told, in my opinion, it was the uncanny sensational play of #15, Kyra Dayon, which made the difference for the Devils. Aside, from her outstanding stat totals, it seemed she always made a key basket, steal, rebound, or blocked shot when the Devils needed it the most. All season long, I've seen her bail out teammates as well as the coaching decisions with her clutch play and floor leadership. I hope the MAC Recognition Committee sees it the same way and rewards her performance with an appropriate accolade.

Here's to hoping that FDU seals an ECAC bid and a special congratulations to the men's program for earning a place in Freedom Conference playoffs.

Go MAC ! Go KNICKS !!

kate

Thanks, Sp0rtsfan!  You are so right, Kyra is absolutely amazing!  We're just hoping that whoever goes to the NCAA's this season from the MAC goes deeper than one & done and that you do get the ECAC bid and Kyra can shine one more time this season!  You guys also have one of our local players, Leigh-Ann Lively from Bangor & Notre Dame HS.  It always makes it so much more fun to follow teams when you get to know the players, or they're from the area high schools.  Is it just us, or have you noticed the competition in the MAC has gotten so much stiffer?
