Congratulations to King's, Lebanon Valley and Messiah - one down (KLM, sounds like the Royal Dutch Airline) - i'm  really dating myself  ;D.   Misericordia it looks like you left it all on the court - Tufts isn't easy and the score as i remember from checking late last night was close.  Good luck to our three winners today!

Our MAC games for tonight are as follows:  Wm. Paterson @ King's, Wilkes Barre at 5:30;  Mt.St. Mary College @ Lebanon Valley, Annville at 6, and Messiah and University of Mary Washington tip off at 7.  Just an aside note, King's has the best website, the other two are a little "busy".  GO KING'S, GO LEBANON VALLEY and GO MESSIAH!!!

King's knocked off # 8 Wm. Paterson this evening by one point - i forget the exact score 64/63?  So proud of our MAC teams so far!

Kings over William Paterson 64-63.  Heck of a win for the program. Congratulation Kings.  LVC cruised over Mt. Saint Mary by 17. Congratulations LVC. Messiah up 30-20 over Mary Washington at halftime.  Hopefully the Falcons can hold on and make it a MAC trifecta into the sweet 16.

Sorry to say Messiah could not hang on and lost to Mary Washington 53-50.  Excellent game by both teams. Congratulations to the Falcons on a fine season. With everyone back and hopefully a healthy Katlyn Vanderhoff Messiah should be a very good team next year. Best of luck to LVC and Kings on your run. I hope you meet at the final four.

Couldn't be more proud this morning of King's and Lebanon Valley!  Messiah lost by just three points, so they certainly left it all on the court.  So far so good - hopefully our two MAC teams can keep it up!

My congrats, as well, to the Monarchs &  LVC....Tough weekend for Messiah on both ends since the men lost in OT - couldn't hold a 16 point lead in the 2nd half on the Royals -  I was there but will post on the men's site.

Too bad ...Will not pass judgement on Carlin's decision, however, makes one wonder about her motivation to abandon the team.. ..So Carlin is out and Muscatell is in and Radar is on fire....Atchison is a local in my area - hope she has a great game ...GO MONARCHS !!

Cancun over the Sweet 16????  How does one do that?  Teammate?  I think not.  Wonder where her parents were in this decision.  How does she come back to school and look her teammates in the eye?  Nice life lesson here...hope one day she is not my doctor or lawyer or teaching my kids; someone I need to depend on to be there for me.  She has shown that her interests are the most important thing in her life.  Unbelievable!  Good luck to Kings!  Maybe they will be better off in the long run.

Hello bballisking!  Ya know what would be the best thing for King's right now - to go in there & beat Emmanuel tomorrow night, & then leave it all on the court as they take on Amherst/York on Saturday!  For me it's Aggies first, when they're done, it's MAC Freedom & MAC Commonwealth.  That being said the absolute BEST luck to King's & Lebanon Valley tomorrow night!!!

I've seen the King's story posted on several message boards, facebook, etc.

While it's easy and tempting to jump to conclusions that allow us to vilify Carlin, we don't know the full story. Maybe she did just quit on her teammates and decide she'd rather go hang out in Cancun. But that sounds like a very strange way to give up something for which she's invested her time, energy, blood and sweat for years.  She's a senior who's been through some mediocre seasons at King's...who's gone through the grind of daily practices... who's given months of her life to basketball -- and then she just decides to quit?

There may be more to the story here.  Frustrations, tensions or other things in her life that don't fit in a news article and aren't apparent to those of us who don't know her at all. Her decision is a curious one, but we should recognize we don't have her side of the story and avoid jumping to conclusions.

Well, your cautions are prudent advice.  But I have to say there are very few situations I can imagine where I'd disappear without telling my coach and go on a college spring break to Cancun rather than be with my teammates - even if I were unable to play for some reason.  And in the few situations I can imagine, spring break in Mexico wouldn't be the answer or the destination.  As you say, VERY curious action.

Even if she did get hurt and was out for the rest of the season regardless of what happened then I could see it, but how does she not tell anyone on the team??

Very strange that a senior would walk out on her team and go to Mexico for spring break, 3 or 4 days before the school plays one of the biggest games of the season.  I said this on twitter, i'd give up ANYTHING to play in the sweet 16, especially if I was a senior and I was on teams that struggled my first 3 years like King's had.  The only way I'm missing a sweet 16 is to attend a wake or funeral of a family member/close friend.  I don't take if I make a trip, the tickets are unrefundable and they cost $5,000 IF I ever got a chance to play in the sweet 16 I'm gonna eat that $5,000.
