FDU finished the first part of the season strong with a 30+ point win over NJ City. Let's hope the long break doesn't cut into the momentum!

Was a little surprised to see the FDU starters play so many minutes in a game that was over by the half.  They were in during the final minutes, running the floor and hoisting threes.  Might have been a good opportunity to get more game minutes for the bench, who will surely be needed against stronger teams later in the season.  NJCU played their bench much more than FDU.  Strange....

Just want to mention on this glorious morning here in Easton, that we're so very proud to see the "MAC 100" logo on the uniforms this season!  So glad that Del Val is a league member.  Also congrats to Aggie, Brenna Coll, who had a career high 27 points last night in a DVC win!   Many more to come, we hope!   Years for the MAC and points for the Aggies  ;)!

Roundball, under the current Devils leadership regime mentality, running up the score, when they can, unfortunately, is not an anomaly. In an earlier 40 point win over Cairn, this season, the Devils only had 9 assists.. What does that tell you ?  The team is doing well this year for several reasons,  one of which, is that last year's recruits returned to the program. Prior to that, 9 of the 12 recruits were "one (year)  and done"...Although the AD and his staff will never take credit for it, my sense is that they have kept the program from a complete implosion.. There's still a long season ahead of them and they'll need more than just athletic ability to continue their winning ways..

Thanks for the insight, wasn't aware of that history.  I can see why a bench player wouldn't want to stick around long enough to develop, if she doesn't get much playing time in blowouts.  Doesn't seem like a strategy to build a strong program for the long term, or to go deep in the post season....

....Stranger still - most of the 9 recruits, who left, were in fact, Starters, and NOT on the bench....The reasons were many....

So very proud of our Aggies - yesterday they overcame a 17-point deficit in the second half to down a very good Eastern Mennonite University team by a score of 68/63!   GO DEL VAL!!!

Good win for them Kate. Now they get to take on the Lady Cavs of Cabrini Monday night.  Should be a good game.

Hi Mailsy!  Are you coming up for the game?   If the weather doesn't turn too foggy or if we don't have torrential rain, we'll be down from Easton.  I don't know about Cabrini's schedule, but if we don't catch the Aggies tonight, they don't play again until January 3.   That's a lonnnnng time without our b'ball fix  :D!   Merry Christmas to one of this sites nicest posters!

Thanks Kate for your kind words. Unfortunately I won't be attending tonight's festivities, I have to work. Next games for me are in 2013. If you go enjoy. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!  :)

Best wishes for the Holiday season to all posters and also good health and good grades for the student athletes.....Looking forward to a great 2nd half of the season...

Very Merry Christmas and Happy, healthy, winning New Year to all my fellow D3 posters!  Sincerely looking forward to meeting more of you in this up-coming half of the season!  Also, we'll be looking for our old b'ball friends at the games!  Got to be the BEST time of the year!

Devils finish up with a win over CCNY...best first half in school history (I believe) , regardless of the schedule. Next should be interesting - at the Moravian tournament vs. a decent Neumann team, and then possibly a big, big game with Moravian.....

Happy new year everyone.

First things first, Happy New Year to all our posters here at the site!   Next, wouldn't that be amazing if FDU, after beating Neumann of course, could take care of business and give those Lady Greyhounds their first loss!?!   Still holding that Landmark grudge (bad, i know, but can't shake it).   Always rooting for our MAC teams here - GOOD LUCK!   If i didn't have so much post holiday stuff to do, we'd come up & cheer you on.  Our play resumes Thursday night when DVC takes on College of NJ!  We'll be watching live stats, and again, good luck!!!

ronk

Kate,
Did you vote for the 100th anniversary MAC teams?  You can do it now for the winter sports(women's bball). Remember all those fine Lady Royals in your voting.

kate

Hello and Happy New Year, Ronk!  We just saw Kate Pierangelli Pearson on Dec. 17th when Del Val played Cabrini.   I certainly should have gone over & given her a hug - yes, we DO remember our contests with the Lady Royals!  Thanks for the heads up on the voting, and again, Happy New Year!
