Warren,

I believe it is 14 years. Started in 1999.  Dang, I aged. ;D  Whomever wins the LVC/Messiah matchup best of the luck in the NCAA's. Hopefully the winner does not run into Thomas Moore in the 1st or 2nd round. That team is unreal and Miss. Moss is most certainly the DIV 3 players of the year. If she is not there is something wrong with the voting system ;). The only negative going against her, she is a sophomore  :o

Thanks for responding.  Only 14 years? I thought it more than that, no doubt because of some of the demolitions I saw the Falcons put on the LVC ladies beginning way back when.  ;)

Tomorrow's game will be something of a war.

Have to commend Lebanon Valley on their video & audio feeds of their championship game with Messiah!  Clear pic with outstanding announcing to go with it!

Congrats to FDU ...back to back titles and undefeated through the finals!

Hopefully we'll be hosting some first & second round games next week...we put in for the bid- we'll see what happens...

Sincere congrats to you Bill and FDU Nation.  Good Luck in the dance!  Please represent the MAC Freedom well!

Thank you LVC for the exceptional video coverage of the final. The announcers were excellent as was the feed.  It was not pretty but the Falcons outlasted LVC in a defensive struggle.  I honestly hope LVC gets an at-large bid.  Congrats to the Falcons for gutting out a hard earned victory. Good Luck to both teams.  Tried to watch/listen to the Scranton/Moravian final  but gave up as the feed, audio and Live Stat links were not very user friendly.  Also congrats to FDU on a outstanding season and hopefully hosting a few rounds.

Kate and mytwocents:

I'm glad you were satisfied by the LVC video feed and game-calling. We have a well-trained group of IT folks in Annville.

As to the game itself ... it looked to me like two heavyweight boxers going at each other in the 14th and 15th rounds of a title bout: not every punch landed, some were way off, there were short-lived bursts of energy, and the opponents took turns bouncing each other off the ropes (and finally one of them was able to prevail, though not without difficulty).

bill

Well, we're hosting :)

FDU v. Wells

Messiah v. Randolph Macon....

Absolute good luck to our MAC Freedom team, FDU and our two MAC Commonwealth teams, Lebanon Valley & Messiah!  Kind of a shame that FDU & Messiah are in the same bracket.  No DeSales - I'm hoping that Del Val gets an ECAC bid.

Del Val heading to McDaniel for the start of the ECAC south tourney!  Will find out the other six tourney teams later tonight!

Huge Congratulations to Del Val Junior Forward, Brenna Coll who reached the 1,000 point mark tonight in a losing effort at McDaniel!   She had a team high 24 points!

Dave 'd-mac' McHugh

She looked good in the first half... and disappeared in the second (along with the rest of her team). I was actually a little disappointed in Del Val in the game as they seemed to be looking to throw elbows and literally body check McDaniel when they got the chance. Not a brand of basketball I enjoy watching and the refs should have stepped up and shut it down. If it had been a men's game, there would have been at least one fight. I was amazed the McDaniel ladies just smiled and got back to their feet.

You write like you have a side job with the National Enquirer.  Gotta get out more, Dave.  Hubby & I have seen multiple games like you've just described (through your eyes, of course).  Would love to hear other people & their take on that game.  Unfortunately, we never picked up the video & we had to watch live stats.  We were thinking home town refs.

Dave 'd-mac' McHugh

Considering the ref assignment system has been overhauled in this region including Pennsylvania... there really isn't any home-town refs. And I don't think they called a game that kept the aggressiveness at bay. I saw a pick from Coll where she lined up the defender... stepped into her and threw her arms like a hockey player laying down a check... she then rolled and threw an elbow into the same player - no call. There was another moment later in the game when #33 (forgetting name) actually followed her player who had beaten her on the dribble and laid in a hip-check as she was going to the basket - that was called.

It was just dirty in some extent and really took away from what I thought was a pretty good Del Val team that somehow disappeared in the second half.

And by the way, I don't need to get out more, Kate. I have seen over thirty women's games in this region, down south, and out in Vegas this season. Those games featured nearly 30 teams. I have seen plenty of basketball covering it for D3hoops, Hoopsville, over seeing video productions for several schools, and public address announcing.

Dave, please don't label Del Val as a dirty team after watching them play one game.  We have followed them all season & have found them to play hard with a ton of intensity.  Coach Hogan does not coach her team to be dirty & does not tolerate the behavior that you have described.  I truly hope that you'll get a chance to watch them next season, as the core will be returning.  I would hope that you would get a different opinion of DVC.

Dave 'd-mac' McHugh

I didn't label them as dirty... I was just surprised the game had moments of dirty play. That's all.

That by no means indicates they are a dirty team... you don't need to put words in my mouth.
