I'll be in town tomorrow and Saturday for the event. Stop by to say hello if you're so inclined. I'm the balding, pale guy with the red goatee who talks throughout the games.

I'll try to stop by, Gordon. Looks like a wide-open sectional.

Gordon will most certainly do an outstanding job!  And, for the record this rabid Aggie fan says GO FDU!!!

Did I hear correctly on the Hoopsville broadcast that FDU is moving to the Atlantic Region next year ?

Yes. Here's the details on the regional realignment coming:

Yes - but remember, SPortsfan - it's the whole Freedom conference, not just FDU. Cool thing is now games against the Commonwealth will be out of our region!

Except that everyone in Pennsylvania remains in-region for everyone else, and everyone within 200 miles works for FDU, and everyone within the conference, and the in-region designation doesn't really matter anymore anyway. The primary metric is all Division III games.

Thanks for the information on the realignment concept and format.....

It's Countdown to Showtime at FDU Florham ! For $7 where else can you get this kind of hype and entertainment ?

I really enjoyed the  Dave McHugh's Hoopsville analysis and interviews. Was Marc Mitchell making his best attempt to match Geno Auriemma's typical tone of arrogance ? Without yet beating a Top 25 team this year, I think he's putting a lot of pressure on the Devils to make this an All or Nothing season. That said, I still think FDU is the best bet of the 4 regional teams to make it to Stevens Point .  In addition to their athleticism and the "Kyra Dayon factor", I think the coach has them playing with a huge chip on their shoulder, sort of an "us against the world" attitude.

Hey Bill, do I need to make an advanced ticket purchase or do you think there will available seats at 4:45 and just pay at the door ?

bill

too late now...but it's spring break - will be tons of room, unfortunately

Came back into the office with my kids for a minute...it's getting ugly late here in the first game...Montclair up comfortably. Their kid Tobias (Sp?) one of the best I've seen....

Well, the all-NJ elite 8 game is set. FDU over came a ridiculous cold stretch - I'm talking 1 hoop in 11 minutes cold - and eventually turned it up to win 66-42.

On to the Final Four!!!

In a gritty game that was way, way closer than the final score, FDU wins 73-53.  Cutting the nets now in Madison...Incredible!

Congratulations to FDU and Mr. Bill :) on their well earned trip to the final 4.   Another dominant effort in the second half lead to a comfortable win.   Best of luck vs Tuff's.

To the team that makes our SOS better each time we play em, this Del Val fan echos the sentiments of mytwocents!   Congratulations FDU and GOOD LUCK against the Jumbos of Tufts!

Congrats to FDU's basketball team and kudos to everyone in the athletic department who did a great job this weekend. I've been inside the Ferguson Recreation Center before didn't realize how nice it was until this weekend. The staff was very attentive and helpful, down to the students who prevented any court storming last night. It's not easy to host these weekends, particularly over spring break, and FDU had all hands on deck, down to Men's Coach Peter Marion helping set up chairs after Friday night's game.

As I told Coach Mitchell in private on Friday, I had no idea that the campus community has embraced FDU's women's team as much as they have. They have something special going and I'm glad I could see it close up for a weekend.

Congratulations to the Lady Devils ! I can't imagine any of the other 3 teams beating them in Wisconsin. FDU has too much speed and they hustle like hec on every possession, both ends of the court...I also feel that adding Shalette Brown to their roster gave  them a real edge... There's no way to match up against her.. Both she and Kyra D. can take their defender at will, at any time, whenever they really need to do it..

Good luck, Devils. Stay healthy and have fun !
