Bill:

Take another look at your quote from Sir Winston.

See if that can be applied anywhere close to home.

Just saying.

Saratoga,

I'm not around the program anymore - I've moved on to a new position in the New England area. I couldn't even begin to report any current facts...

I was just commenting on how the board was discussing a situation that I had mentioned a year ago!

Hello all,

I'm not the least bit surprised about the mini "protest", statement, whatever we call it from FDU. If you look back to our posts from February of last year, you''ll see I was quite angry about the situation as well...

I still wish the best for the Devils...the rise to prominence of this program truly amazes me. FDU's basketball program was below average to mediocre at best...and now it will be news when they don't win the conference and advance in the NCAA's. Coach Mitchell, in 8 years, now has almost 35% of all the wins in FDU program's history.

Best wishes to all....

Discussion on a bulletin board is one one thing, people have fine debates and disagreements online all the time.   But the action taken by the coach and team is a completely different thing. as evidenced by the administration's response.  To your point, it's unfortunate the coach's fine accomplishments are tarnished by his choice.

The MAC Freedom was well represented in the Atlantic regional rankings with four teams in the top 7:  FDU-Florham (2), DeSales (3), Misericordia (4) and Eastern (6).

Not that hard when most of the rest of the region isn't that good. NJAC is about the only other competition. There won't be a lot of bids coming from that region. Whereas on the Commonwealth side, well represented there in one of the deepest regions in the country.

I wasn't comparing regions.   Simply found it interesting that half of the MAC Freedom is in the top seven in their region.

I wasn't comparing either... but I was indicating that it isn't that hard for the Freedom this year to have that many teams in the region. The Atlantic on the whole is not great. In an average region, the bottom half of these rankings would have a lot of trouble making a regional rankings.

My comment about the Mid-Atlantic and Commonwealth was just the juxtaposition right next door.

Good luck and best wishes to my (former) Devils as they go for the conference title, and hopefully far beyond!

Congratulations to DeSales on a thrilling win at Misericordia last night.  Kudos to DeSales head coach for his praise of the Cougars and their head coach Jason Rhine in today's Times Leader:  http://timesleader.com/sports/637310/misericordia-womens-basketball-posts-big-rally-in-double-overtime-loss

In case anyone missed it, Stevenson's Sara Tarbert broke the NCAA D3 record for consecutive double-doubles in the loss to Messiah. 27-straight. She then earned her second-consecutive conference POW. Thrill to watch her play.. too bad it won't end up with another game(s) in the NCAAs.

Well, congrats to FDU - hosting the NCAA's again.

It's FDU v. Gwennyd Mercy, and Messiah v. Babson

Wish I could be there - good luck to the Devils...
