ADK,

Just curious? Do you have any relatives that play for Kings or are you just an avid fan?

hooperstar36

I know this might seem as a shock to some, but do you know that Andrea DeMaranville isn't playing this year because she is hurt again?  i also wanted to say, how do you have LYCOMING as last when last year they beat wilkes twice??  ??? i think this year will have alot of upsets that not everyone is expecting.  DeSales has lost HUGE impact players last year to graduation and Scranton still has their all american. Don't get me wrong, i am not for one team, just want to start some good discussion on this years league.

Hooperstar36----One of the reasons that I placed Wilkes ahead of Lyco was the return of Andrea Demaranville. That is a shame, 2 yrs in a row....I was impressed particularly with Andrea Kaprowicz and with Rena Bolin the guard tandem for Wilkes. Now with the loss of Demaranville it may be another long year in Wilkes?????

You alluded to the fact that Scranton returns their All American, I do, however, think that their point gaurd Allison Matt is All American potential as well. The addition of Casey Thran should help to replace a lot of the rebounding from the graduated seniors Tara Gemmel and Eileen Webster. I do agree with your thought that this year we can see some big upsets though.

Just wondern with Kings new coach ,most teams have a let down the first year or so. I would like to here some comments on this issue.

hooperstar36

well what i have learned about this league is that no matter what, coaches can make or break the team.. even if u have a whole team of girls who could possibly be all-american's, if the coach can't coach, then your not in good shape.. i haven't really heard alot about KING's team this year, but this new coach better be ready for whats coming to him.. :o

Mack:

As someone who is VERY close to the King's program, I would never speculate on wins and losses, but I will tell you that this program will be much different than it was in terms of style of play.

Look for this team to press more and run more than it ever has. It will be interesting to see how the returning players adapt to a new style of play, especially considering King's has been such a strong half-court team for several years, going back to the Joanne Polakoski and Heather Medashefski era in the late 1990's.  With 10 returning players and six freshmen, the team will need excellent depth due to the energy the players will utilize with this new style. Is that depth there?  That is one part of the equation that must be answered.....

  Nice?????

I watched the Red and Gold game on Saturday  It was wonderful to see all the players and families.   There is a great season ahead for the Lady Monarchs and their new coach.

I also watched the game on Saturday. And I saw a very talented freshman class. If the team can adapt to the coaches new system, they will do very well.

ADK--MACK,

How about some particulars from the game? I am curious as to how someone like Jenna palumbo and Lauren Kendra fared against some of the top class alum such as Nikki Kingston, Tiffani Varrase, and Joana Polakowski?

Also. was it a competitive game?  Boy you can tell it is pre-season when we are talking about things like this!!!!!!!!!!!1

saratoga

Can it be true that the Lady Royals have a transfer post player that was highly recruited by Pitt...that's the real Pitt as in Big East Pitt, not Greensburg or Johnstown??? Many with great expectations in Royalville.

ballerinthehouse

yo lets get so comenwealth talkin goin on. I know messiah's gonan be foreal again with eli cook returning as a star and a nice divison one transfer in at guard they should be solid once again

saratoga

I'm sure Messiah will be the class of the Commenwealth again this year...some nice returning kids and a very nice transfer from D-1 Binghamton. I saw a number of Bingo's games last year & she received quite a bit of pt. so she will be a real nice bonus. Problem is, the bus still has to travel through Scranton for anything to change & the Lady Royals in addition to having a great nucleus returning themselves, have also been the recipient of at least two very-very good transfers. All conjecture at this point...I'm sure both squads will have great years, something that's always expected at Scranton.
