Good for them, but what does any of that have to do with MAC Womens Basketball? There is a D-3 football link...you may want to enlighten people on that site, otherwise invest in Onstar...you're lost.

bisonpride

I did post it on d3football.com. .I would like to let everybody to know that.

saratoga,

I honestly do not know how good Messiah may or could be. Moravian most likely gets the nod over them in the conference.  Messiah's  tournement schedule is against excellent competition especially the Surf & Slam in San Diego.  They play UW-Stout, Point Loma or Tufts and if things work out Millikin or St. Norbert or Point Loma.  Matter of fact there are few cup cakes on their non-conference and tourney slate. Messiah will be battle tested when confrence playoffs and hopefully NCAA time comes around.  I must admit that it would be nice to see them get rid of the Scranton cloud hanging over them as Scranton has had their # every time they met. I watched last years tourney game and it seemed that the Messiah players and coaches both were somewhat intimidated by Scranton.

A nice ederly couple sitting in front of me during the game were obviously Scranton fans and just nodded or smiled at each other every time Scranton made a bucket or nice play.  I was a little more vocal in cheering on the Falcons but was a little surprised when they turned around to ask me where Messiah is located and what conference they represent. LOL

It took me a little time to figure out the new layout but overall I like the look.  Congrats D3 on a nice job.

Before the MAC realigns, we should all learn the location of every school, where the parking lot is, and above all, where the heck is the gym?!

adkfan

Yes Kate that kinda stuff should be located on one site for the ease of the fan.
It would be nice if you could click on the opposing teams name in the schedule and have their site pop up with directions (clear ones) to their gym.  I have been lost plenty of times on the campus of the team without any roadsigns to a gym
if they even call it a gym... "The Center".    If you need directions POST IT maybe one of us bleacher jockeys will be able to help.
Best this season to your team.

The RED and GOLD Game was an intersquad game... nothing serious I will tell you one team beat the other  fun :)

Generally. the web site for a school includes a campus map with prominent buildings like a gym and directions.

On our schedule the links go to the schedule page of the opposing team. From there you can visit the school's official site and see what they have to offer.

I've had that kind of trouble myself with school sites, trying to find the gym. Or with the university's web site that gives directions to the school but doesn't mention the athletic facilities are not right on campus.

I guess the pressure will really be on the Lady Royals now (when isn't it?), as a person very close to the team has stated that not only is this perhaps the deepest team Coach Strong has had in terms of one wave after another of kids that can all play the game, but that the second team would end up being perhaps the toughest competion they face in the MAC. & would be in the playoffs themselves! Sounds great just as long as what appears to be a strength in early Nov. is still considered one in mid-March.

ballerinthehouse

so today brings the first day of scrimages for most schools.   Lets here who looks good as individuals and as teams.  I know messiah starts off today with a challenging scrimage agaisnt NYU  whose everyone else playing

Those looking for directions to schools in the conference can also go to the MAC website at www/lvc.edu/mac and go to the "Fact Book" section.  Each MAC school's directions are listed in that section......

And King's has its first scrimmage against D-II Bloomsburg today (Sunday), then scrimmages D-II Holy Family College out of Philadelphia on Thursday.

Two tough scrimmages against D-II squads should tell an aweful lot about the team.

and in an earlier post, someone inquired about the red vs, white game and how current King's players fared against past players like Kingston, Varrasse, Polakoski, etc.  The red vs. white game was an intrasquad game as part of the annual King's "Meet the Players Day". so no alumni were involved.

Have heard only that Kings did in fact defeat Bloomsburg today but no details
Let the games begin  Go Monarchs

ADK,

The irony, our teams play the same opponents in scrimmages...The Lady Royals play Bloom on Fri night. Too bad they open with a tourney in Portland, Oregon. I can't get away with that trip..

roy_a

Adk,

Also it was nice to see 2 ladies from the Mac-freedom on the All-American list...Taryn Mellody was 2nd team and Beth Jordan was honorable mention. Also, I was surprised that Kings was not listed in the pre-season top 25?????

Kate,

Well, how many players will DelVal start the season with??

ronk

It should be revealing for Kings to scrimmage 2 D2 teams;then they open with the strong Marymount tournament where they could play 2 of last year's NCAA teams in the 2nd(Wesleyan) and 3rd(Trinity) rounds.

Saratoga,
have u been able to answer your own question?(is it true scranton has a xfer from Pitt?) if so, who is she and did she play there or was she only recruited by Pitt?

won't be able to make it to oregon for the royals opener, but intend to see the thanksgiving weekend games at catholic and johns hopkins.

saratoga

She's a 6'2" post player that played two years in Jr. Coll. and was very activly pursued by Pitt. & Marist. From what I hear, she just wasn't ready to move to that level and took a year off to make some serious decisions. She showed up at Coach Strong's office this summer & came with her priorities in order...and now the rest is up to her. If the Lady Royals can go inside with nearly as much authority as they play from the perimiter, a very good team has just gotten significantly better.
