Cj4l:

DeSales graduated Alyssa Antolick among other seniors.  It's a whole new crew for Coach Richter in Center Valley so voters are right to take a "wait and see" approach with DSU.

Jaime Cerda,
Duly noted on the loss to graduation.  But it's been my experience at the D3 level that the rule is good coaching overcomes losses like that, and Richter is, by anyone's definition, a great coach.

And as much as I'd like to make the trip to Glassboro for tomorrow's big football match, I'm saving myself for the Elite 8. :)

Lady Royals 71- Willamette 59

From the Willamette website:

Game was close throughout until Scranton scored 12 straight from 6:06 left and royals trailing 49-51. Allison led with 22; Royals outrebounded 36-28 but shot 47% from floor.

Well it was a little premature to be excited by the results of Friday nights game, for the Lady Dutch were thoroughly dismantled by DelVal in in the finale. The game was marked by weak defense and incredibly poor shooting. There were no viable adjustments made and players were left on the floor far too long to compete with a much more disciplined DV team. With only 9 active players LVC is going to have to come up with a way to rest them or it's going to be a long season. Bish is a much needed addition and had a very nice opeing series but we're going to need more than that to survive. CG looked frustrated but why it's the same again, and she should be used to it.
Was nice to see Kate in the stands and she was justifiably proud of the DV performance.
Come on LVC, you're going to have to do this one yourselves, again!

Probably have never had a better time at an opening Tournament - Lebanon Valley College has an incredible sport's complex, the students were friendly & helpful. i got to meet Warren, and the best for last, my Aggies were victorious!!  Congrats to Rachel Joyce (MVP)  & the entire team & coaches!  Happy Thanksgiving to everyone at the post!

I enjoyed our halftime conversation yesterday. Thanks for your kind words about the facilities and students, and my congratulations to the Aggies for a well-deserved championship.

What's wrong with King's athlectic website

Well, the games have begun and I am very happy that the season is here. So far, no real surprises other than Kings: 1 win and 2 losses. Was the competition that good???Or is it just the players need some time to adapt to the new coach? or, something else?????

mack

I think the reason Kings aren't playing well right now, is the new coaches stye of play. And they lost a great point guard. Vienna didn't have great stats, but she made everyone around her a better player.I'm thinking as the season wears on the team will adjust to the coaches system

by Catholic 64-56.  This board has been really quite for whatever reason.  Looks like a wide open race for the Commonwealth conference crown with Moravian, Messiah, Widener and Susquehanna doing well so far.  Scranton still the one to beat in the Freedom with maybe Del Val and Drew new playoff contenders.

In the defeat of the royals, the emphasis should be on Catholic winning through execution especially the pick and roll for 4 or 5 layups and kickouts to the wing  for open shots.
The royals did cause 25 turnovers on defense but got few uncontested shots on offense. Should be tested again tomorrow against a good Johns Hopkins team.

Better effort from the royals today in defeat of Johns Hopkins as full court pressure resulted in numerous steals, layups and turnovers, turning a close game into a 40-19 lead.
Post play is a work in progress and looks to be shared among Michelle, Kathleen, and Tiffaney. Kudos to Stephanie for her all-around play, Erin for 6 defensive rebounds and 4 steals, and Tiffaney for 4 offensive rebounds.
Biggest surprise:Taryn missing 3 foul shots but she shot well from the floor and had 5 defensive boards.

Best luck to DVC as they travel to FDU-FLoham Park tomorrow night (first league game).  Can not wait until Saturday when we get to see King's with their new coach.  It should be a crazy day on campus (rumor has it that there's another game - football, i think   :) so it's going to be fun)

First pick of the season, Scranton:86/Lyco.:49. The time for the Lady Royal's to get out of cruise control is here & based on sheer talent & numbers this should be the game to kick it in. Teams like Lyco. need to be put away early & with authority...the longer you let them hang around the more weird things can happen. Time to go with the starting group till they at least break a sweat, then work on the substitution patterns.

??? Well a conference loss by 31 isn't going to help morale at not so happy valley (LVC that is), was very concerned with their struggles against Rosemont (I had a win there), but this is getting serious.  Didn't feel the love and sat the game out but perhaps now that the players that gave the school credibility for the last four years have gone, mostly unfulfilled, perhaps it's time to look at the root of the problem. On the other hand maybe the school just doesn't care about it's women's team.  Suspect that this post won't go over well but there you have it, there is a lot of potential on the team and I feel nothing but pity for any of the freshman parents who have to live through the four years I had with my daughter up there.  SO long and thanks for all the fish...
