Sorry, I don't hide from anyone.  Last game had nothing to do with the first game. Besides, Roy and I exchanged some friendly private emails to share our thoughts on the game. Just because you did not see a post from me does not mean there wasn't discussion on it. I just chose to do it directly with Roy this time.

If I were to post my honest take on the game I am sure I would probably have insulted someone from both sides and sometimes (I know how sensitive some fans can be) it is best to keep your opinions to yourself. At least I know I can discuss the game with Roy and make a point without it being blown out of proportion.

Roy, i honestly don't know quite what to expect, although the Aggies have played three good solid games in a row.  Usually, the home team does play better in their house then away.  i know i'll be screamin for em :)!  Actually i was just wondering who was coming to the game.  i'm not too big on predictions.

Been thinking about this last night and this morning - we're in the league with the #2 D3 basketball team in the U.S.  We should be excited about playing the Lady Royals, win or lose.  i miss the hype that surrounded that particular match-up when Alisa Di & "Doc" were in the game.  Let's hope for great weather on Saturday, and a huge crowd to cheer both sides - hafta admit i'm partial :)!

Kate,  Great point....Sometimes, well, I guess all the time I am spoiled to have such a team to root for. It shows a great deal of loyalty to root for teams that may not be vying for contention on a yearly basis. I also remember such great Scranton-Delval tussles. They typically bring their A game when they play the Lady Royals and there only downfall has been depth. The match up here in Scranton this year was not typical of a Delval team though..we'll see how it turns out on Sat. Right now I am looking forward to Weds' game.

It was great to see the amount of alumni who showed up for Scranton's annual Women's Basketball Alumni weekend.  Got a chance to catch the end of the alumni game and it was great to see past greats like Kate Pierangeli, Lisa Harris, AnneMarie Russo, Tara Gemmel, to name a few, re-lace their sneaks and get out on the court for a game of competitive pick up.  From what I hear they played for about two hours and it didn't look like age did much to their game....They all looked like they could throw on a purple uniform and fit right back into the swing of things.  Once again this is proof of what a great program Coach Strong has built.  How many programs have a bunch of alumni who come back year after year to play and than support Lady Royals that they haven't even played with.  The Long Center was definitely beaming with Purple Pride on Saturday as the 1976 Mens National Championship team (which Coach Strong was an asst. coach for) was honored.  Scranton, specifically Strong's Lady Royals, really have a wonderful program, not only because they are so good year in and year out, but more importantly the friendships and comraderie that are formed between the teammates year in and year out is really something special.  I had a chance to catch up with some of the alumni and it seems they all keep in touch with each other on a regular basis.  Forming life-long friendships is what playing this sport is really all about.  I only hope that the other programs in the MAC have this same bond that alll the Lady Royals seem to have.  With that said....GO LADY ROYALS!!

Scranton and Etown should play alumni games against each other. There's a lot of great talent that went through those schools.

B'ball, can't speak for other squads, but the Del Val alum frequently appear when possible to cheer the present team on, & what i find exciting is the number of former players still involved in basketball - multiple former Aggie players who i have mentioned in earlier posts.  It's great cause, hopefully, the people involved with high schools will funnel talent toward Aggie Land :)

Saratoga,

Glad you are still out there...How about jumping ahead a few weeks with some predictions????? How do you see the Mac Freedom playoffs shaking out?

Roy: For what it's worth...here they are. All teams have 3 games left & I see the Lady Royals running the table to finish 14-0. That means they give DVC & Desales 1 more loss as well as Lyco. I see DVC going 2-1 to finish at 10-4, Desales going 1-2 to end at 8-6 and Kings going 2-1 to end at 8-6. Drew goes 1-2 to continue their second half fall from grace & end up 6-8 & FDU although I see them possibly winning all 3 still will fall short & finish at 7-7. Since Kings has swept Desales it will wash out: 1.Scranton 2.DVC 3.Kings 4.Desales. I see the Lady Royals getting their toughest test in the opening round vs. Desales as they will have to face them 2 times in 4 days. DVC will upend Kings in a tight one & Scranton will handle the Aggies in the Freedom final pretty easily as they match up very well against them...at least at the Long Center. Of course, part or none of this may play out...but, the Lady Royals will win the Freedom even if they sleepwalk in their games vs. DVC & Desales & fall short somehow. However, I really do not see that happening as to much is riding on overall records & regional rankings when it comes to hosting in the NCAA's...and that is something the Lady Royals certainly want to do. Your take???
