Just curious - is anyone on here watching the "other half" of the MAC?  Things should be heating up there as well down the stretch.  Especially with Moravian beating Messiah - may be heading for a rematch in the finals?  Of course, don't count out any of the other teams either - especially those battling for their playoff lives in the #4 spot! Any thoughts on what would happen with the top teams in the Freedom vs. the top teams in the Commonwealth?  Thoughts on the regional rankings?

MacFan--We would like to hear from people on the Comm side but they have been few and far between. A matchup of the top 4 teams from the Freedom vs the Comm sure would be interesting. The #1's Scranton vs Messiah matchup would be a top rated game for sure. As for the others, the 2-5 in the Freedom can beat any team on any given night..including Scranton, however, on any given night those teams can be in for long nights as well. So without sounding too confusing it sure would be fun  to see an old fashioned Mac playoff like the old days......

WOW!!!!!! When Scranton and Desales get together you never know what is going to happen...The first half saw Desales up by 25 points...46-21.  Scranton then goes on to win by a score of 78-71...

Second half Casey Thran scores all of her 16 points. Alli Matt scores 16 of her 25 and Taryn Mellody scores 13 of her 18.

By the way this game was at Desales.....

Another wow...I thought DVC would take advantage of playing a team in last place to pullout a spot in the playoffs..but it will be Scranton-Kings-Desales-Drew. Other than the top 2 I do not know the order?????

As everyone on here must know, i am heartsick, but it's nothing compared to what the Aggies are feeling - Lyco had our number today - Drew should give you guys a great game Wednesday night - have fun.

Unbelievable!!! The Lady Royals are down 25 in the 1st. half & come storming back to win AT Desales. Of all the games I couldn't make...I pick the seasons most exciting. Probably one of the greatest comebacks by any Lady Royal team...also due in part to the fact the Lady Royals are rarely down double-didgets in many games. Also, congratulations to the Drew women for making their first playoff appearance in quite some time. I'm sure the 4 seniors at Drew will be sky-high to take on the 5 seniors from Scranton...should be a great one at the Long Center. As for DVC...I had them splitting their final 2 games but, not in the order it went. One had to believe that after winning at Desales... taking on the last place team at home with a berth on the line would be a given...I guess someone forgot to mention that to Lyco's ladies. Kings/Desales will be a good one...edge has to go to Kings playing at home...also, how will the Desales squad recover from the shock of what just transpired? Scranton better bring the defensive intensity they played with in the 2nd.half to the entire Drew game as the Rangers are a carbon-copy of Desales with their perimiter game...only Drew has hungry and very good seniors. Great win for Scranton...but, down 25? ???

Playoffs begin on Wed and typically they announce the all star teams that day as well. I'm going to venture a guess and throw it out and see who everyone else thinks is deserving.

I feel your pain, Kate...I do have a feeling that the Lady Bulldogs might see the Royals at crunch time...AT LONG'S!..What a sobering thought...DSU defense needs to get in gear...Good luck Lady Bulldogs...

Besides Lycoming, does anyone know what other teams will be in the MAC Commonwealth?  It's Albright, Messiah, Widener, Lebanon Valley, Elizabethtown, & Lyco -  should be one more.

Macfan,

I am a fan of the Messiah Falcons and have seen 2 of their games this season, the Desales win and the Moravian loss.  The Falcons have another good team this year. One player stands out on their squad, Nickki Lobach. The young lady can flat out play on both ends of the court. In the Moravian loss rebounding did them in as the Greyhounds owned the offensive glass. Not sure if it was a very  game for Moravian or a sub-par performance by the Falcons.   They sure seem to have problems winning on the Greyhounds home court. From what I can tell from this season results so far seems that the Commonwealth side of the conference may be slightly stronger overall.  Scranton is still the team to beat on the Freedom side but do not seem to be hitting on all cylinders, yet they manage at 23-2 record. Not to shabby.  I sure would like to see a Messiah/Scranton match-up in the NCAA.   Hopefully both teams can make that happen.

Interesting games tomorrow night, weather's supposed to be decent now, &, depending on some outcomes, i wouldn't mind seeing a game close to home on Sat.  i'm still hurting after last Sat., but i really need a D-3 fix, & it's really hard to quit "cold turkey."  Still wondering who the # 7 team in the Commonwealth will be - anyone know?

kate

How about that, the two Landmark teams are fighting it out tonight, and the two MAC teams that are staying with the League are at it, too.  i will be listening.  Any thought to the future of the MAC - could the Commonwealth & Freedom sides be joining?  Are there a number of colleges, perhaps from the PAC who would like to come on board?

Congratulations to Moira Donahue and Shannon O'Neill named to the Second Team All-Conference squad for 06-07, Freedom League!

Cudos to Courtney Cunningham from Drew  being named Player of the Year. She was rookie of the year her freshmen season and ends it with POY.

Also congrats to Mike Strong--Coy and to Taryn Mellody,Alli Matt and Tiff Williams on their respective awards. Also, to Taryn Mellody for being named a finalist for the Jostens Player of the year award.
