A couple of thoughts:

-Lady Royals took over the game last night in the second half with better defense and the Lady Royals shooters getting into a grove.  Tiffany will have to play better to make a long run in NCAA's.  Hopefully just not a good night.

-As a Royal fan, this can be sometimes hard to say, but I think this is the classiest Lady Monarch's team I have seen.  That goes from coach to players.  I am always watching for the little things.  For example, the coach from King's going over to the U. of S. student that sang the National Anthem to compliment her.  Very little complaining and no bad sportmanship from players.  Their future looks bright.

-More problems with King's fans.  2 fans were ejected by security during 2nd half.  I don't know why, but my guess is profanity with young children sitting near by.

-Kate, I am usually lurking and not often posting, but I agree that you have such an enthusiasm for the game that it is refreshing to see.  Best of luck to your girls in the future.  Hopefully the Landmark Conference will have classy fans like you.

Go Lady Royals!!!!

TC: Love your spirt...but, it's Gwynned-Mercy that "better get ready" as you'll be going to either Scranton or Messiah. You may have a nice winning streak but, keep in mind Scranton has NOT lost at home in 4 years. In addition...you havn't won up there in your two trys recently so be a little cautious. This current Lady Royal team has been to the Elite8 & two Final Fours...Gwynned has been where? Be careful what you wish for...it may come true. Welcome to the jungle!

RoyalGator

Scranton's senior Mellody and Matt have compiled one of the best 4 year records at the UofS!!

112 wins - 10 losses (91.80%)
:)

TC: One quick question...does Gwynned still have that rather loud & extrenly obnoxious fan that thinks he's the next Tony Soprano?

salesman

Okay...might as well join the lovefest here to Kate from regular posters...Kate, you lite up this site it would be dull without your infectious enthusiasm to the MAC games...I am glad DVC remains loyal to the league and you will be with us some more...MAJOR TREAT :)!..C ya next season...

Saratoga - We can't WAIT to come to the jungle, with Tony Saprano having our back what's to be scared of? Your right Scranton has a great team but 2 out of the past 3 years we came there and it came down to the FINAL minute both games, you know what they say the 3rd time is the charm.

Yes the same EXTREMLY OBNOXIOUS fans, me being one of them will be there and loud as ever, that's if they send us there. Scanton is LUCKY they never get to come play us at our JUNGLE but TRUST me we are NOT scared to come there and beat you. And after GMC beat Scranton your welcome to join TONY and the rest of the GMC fans for a celebration drink, it's on us buddy. If we don't play you guys goodluck and hopefully we will meet up the following weekend.

TC: Remember, Scranton is Not another CederCrest, Wesley or Marywood. One other thing...even if you were able to pull off an upset or two...that means nothing in the grand scheme of things. Do it EVERY year against the BEST & not just the bottom-feeders and after about your 3rd. trip to the Final Four then talk...till then, just another hopeful with no resume. Good luck though & tell Tony it's just a game. However, if he's going to lose his marbles again screaming to the stroke point...please let it be at Scranton.

I may not quite "get" the way the NCAA does the pairings, but I guess I'll see once they are released tomorrow morning!  Anyway, I thought since Messiah has been top in the NCAA rankings and Scranton has been #2 that would mean that Messiah would be hosting?  I guess they could both host this coming weekend - but if they both would come out of next weekend, wouldn't Messiah be more likely to host than Scranton?  Of course, maybe one of them will be sent to another lesser region and then they could meet up in the Final Four.  Wouldn't that be great to have two reps from the MAC in the Final Four?  Help, I'm confused!

roy_a

Macfan--In a region there will be 8 teams, of those 8, 2 will host 4 team tourneys which represent the 1st and 2nd rounds. The following weekend is the sweet 16. Obviously only 1 team can then host.Who that team is depends a lot on geography as well as seeding. If both Messiah and Scranton are alive, clearly Messiah will have a better ranking, but it depends on where the other 2 teams are located. If they are north of Scranton then sending 3 teams south may not make sense???

saratoga

MACFAN: The way its worked in the past is more than likely both Messiah & Scranton SHOULD host this weekend. Four teams in each section playing Friday & Sat. Then if the higher remaing seed had won their half of the bracket...they would then probably host the following weekend when the Mid-Atlantic & the Atlantic schools get the previous weekend champs together. I believe you hosted this weekend series last year but were upset by Williams in the Sat. championship game. Then the next weekend since Scranton had won their half of the bracket, they hosted & Williams along with Rochester & Baldwin-Wallace came to Scranton for the Sweet 16 & Elite 8 games. However...we are talking NCAA here so throw logic out the window & be prepaired to travel to a school that is in the middle of nowhere & is not even ranked.

Saratoga - We ALL know the bottom teams in the PAC STINK. But its not like your playing in a powerhouse either. Lets see Kings who finished 2nd played 4 teams in the PAC this year and went 1-3. Lost to us by 15 at Kings, lost to Cabrini by 5 at Kings (Cabrini finshed 2nd in the PAC) and lost to Neumann by 13(Neumann finished 5th in the PAC) and they beat Arcadia who finshed 7th in the PAC. And GMC beat Ursinus by 21 who won the CC Championship. So enough with how bad the PAC is. We will see next weekend.

roy-a.... Thanks yesterday wasn't as easy as I thought it was going to be. but winning the Championship is sweet. If we do come to Scranton we all know it would be a major upset but I know it will be a good game, I just like messing with Saratoga. If we don't come there I wish you luck and then hopefully we meet up the following weekend, that's if you guys are still alive.  :)

kate

Roy, sorry you found my post confusing, but i definitely want you guys to beat GMC if you happen to hit em.  And, yes, i certainly know when your reign in the MAC ends :)!  i agree with the poster (sorry i forgot your handle) that the King's fans are very respectful, at least they were at DVC - Drew fans are also amazing.  Certainly i just hope we have MORE fans out in Nov.  Until then, GO MAC - that means MESSIAH & SCRANTON!!!

TC HOOPS

Saratoga - It's your LUCKY day, you don't have to worry about Tony coming to see you on Fridday GMC got SCREWED and has to go to NYU and beat up on the New Yorkers. But GOODLUCK to your girls I hope they win. GOODLUCK to the rest of the Mid-Atlantic teams, show them where the real ball is played at.

Good to see the selection has a sense of irony.  Way to schedule Mt St Mary to play Scranton in the round of 32 (pending upsets).  Scranton has 2 losses all year - and that's one of 'em.

Then, should Scranton escape the sectional, there's the prospect of traveling to 26-1 Bowdoin for the regional.  Not that there's any history there.  If memory serves, in consecutive elite 8's, '04 Bowdoin beat Scranton in Maine... and '05 Scranton beat Bowdoin at the Long Center in the best women's game I've ever seen.

Silly me - I was hoping for Scranton to get placed in the Messiah regional... though for strictly geographically-selfish reasons.
