Ouch, Del Val lost both games of the Pepsi Weis Opening Tourney at Selinsgrove - the first game last night to an Excellent Elmira team that at first glance looked to take the tournament.  Today we lost to a ready to fight Lake Erie College after they lost last night to Susquehanna, in overtime, in a game they apparently had won - go figure.  Anyway, Selinsgrove was fun, got to see everyone (Jess Ruvolis looks good), & looking forward big time to Chestnut Hill Tuesday night at DVC.  GO AGGIES!!!

Major congratulations to FDU for winning the Tourney at Johns Hopkins over the weekend; also congrats to Kings & DeSales - GO MAC!

Eineker is getting it done.  Beating Johns Hopkins on the road  has got to be a major confience builder for them.  Especially since Johns Hopkins has 13 letterwinners returning.  He is obviously does a great job of conditioning his team, when only six players play.  Go FDU-Florham!

Again, congrats to all the MAC winners last night, DeSales & Messiah, you out did yourselves! :)  Now this rabid Aggie fan is waiting for the team's first win (we'll have to wait until at least the 27th - our next game).  Meantime, HAPPY THANKSGIVING to everyone at the post.  Win or lose, it's still great to be back in the gym watching our Aggies (let's get some wins though people - you CAN do it!)

Warren, on one of my last checks before cooking tomorrow :(, i see that Lebanon Valley has come out of the gate very strongly - did you watch them play?  Appears to be several good new people on the  team  - again, Happy Thanksgiving & GO MAC!!!

Yes, the ladies are now 3-0 and looking good. I saw their first two games in the Marquette Tournament. Four freshmen usually start.

It seems Messiah has another very strong team this year.  I don't think Scranton is the power house of the past few years but they are still a very formidable team. Good Luck Falcons

OOPS, on prior post forgot to add Messiah/Scranton play this coming Wednesday. Should be an exciting game.

Hope it's exciting; I plan on attending. Scranton returns plenty of experience, just none of the crunch time big play baskets, steals, or rebounds that they depended on last year from the graduated Mellody, Matt, and Williams. To beat Messiah, they will need a team effort. Should be a good early-season indicator for both teams.

Boy, the one night we couldn't make it down to Doylestown, my Aggies held on to beat an incredibly tough Drew team 89 - 88 in double overtime!  Drew will give you Landmark guys a real run for your money, that's for sure!  Major congrats to Moira Donahue who hit for 33 big points!  Of course, congrats to the entire DVC team on their first win this season!

Almost forgot - live stats - the best thing since sliced bread!

Messiah 61 Scranton 53.  Scranton had no answer for Nikki Lobach who led the Falcons with 27 points. First win ever by Messiah over the Scranton Women.  Congrats Falcons.

Congratulations to Messiah...it's been a long time coming. You are correct "My Two Cents'...Scranton does not have the "powerhouse" they usually do. However, that "powerhouse" has not been just 'of the past FEW years" as you've stated...rather, that powerhouse has actually been over the past few DECADES. A Final Four, Elite 8 or Sweet Sixteen team as they usually accomplish??? Probably not...but, they'll win a few. Enjoy the win...Messiah is by far the team to beat in the MAC & Coach Miller certainly will have another playoff squad come Feburary. Perhaps there will be a second meeting. Eight point loss on the road vs. a very good & experienced team...the Lady Royals will hopefully learn & grow from this game...best of luck the rest of the way.

Just back from Messiah- Messiah has a very good team and Nikki Lobach is an All-American level player; she knows how to manuever in the lane. They had a stifling man-to-man defense, got numerous points in the paint(not all by Lobach) on nice assists, and many offensive rebounds. Somehow they had 1 more turnover than the Royals even though the Royals defense wasn't as good as Messiah's.
For the Royals, Ryan was the only effective dribbler against the tight defense. Against a quality team on the road was a good indicator of work to be done. They're capable of winning the Landmark, but won't be the odds on favorite as in the past. On the other hand, I don't see this year's conference foes being as strong as Kings, DeSales, and DelVal have been in the past.
Of the freshmen, Megan Kopecki looks like a player; she knows what to do offensively. Brittany Bontempa shows promise.
For any oldtimers, sat with former Les Dickman award winner Tom Yucka(my class of '66) who, until recently, was the attending physician for Messiah bball teams. We hope to get together next week when the Royals and Messiah meet in the men's version.
