Thanks Bill & Grove for clearing that up for us - i was so horrified at the time (remember, i do not like change) that it all went over my head.  It would be terribly confusing if diferent schools were in several conferences for various sports.  It's hard enough to follow right now.  Like i mentioned before, still can't believe that the MAC no longer sponsors wrestling.  i suppose their trying to move toward trendier sports like lacrosse.  Yes, i know too that several of our MAC schools have ice hockey.  Anyway, get better Jess & Brittany down there at DVC!

LVC will reinstitute men's and women's lacrosse in 2010, a move that's long overdue. BTW as far as I know, LVC is the only varsity ice hockey team in the MAC; they play in the ECAC West conference. Former MAC member Scranton had [has?] a team, though in recent years they mostly compete v. club venues.

Warren, what about Manhattanville?  As i said in an earlier post, i'm very satisfied with the five new additions to the MAC, although i haven't "met" Eastern & Misericordia yet.  Eastern cleaned up in the Freedom with the fall sports of volleyball, soccer, & field hockey - i'm referring to the women, of course.  Don't really go into the men's sports too  much other than b'ball & some football.

Mea culpa. I forgot about Manhattanville, likely because they're new to the MAC (that, or my mind is slipping these days -- unfortunately, the latter is the more likely explanation, I fear.  :-[)

It would be nice if there were a MAC ice hockey league, but I doubt that will ever come to be -- and maybe shouldn't. The MAC is hardly situated in ice hockey heaven, never mind the Manhattanville Valiants.

Congrats to FDU's Coach Noon on her first conferene win today over Kings!

Great job, ladies....

Yes, Lycoming beat the Aggies today 68 - 60, but it was our first game without Brit Battinieri, out likely for the season with a torn ACL.  Even my husband said on the way home that he was very proud of the team the way they stepped up this afternoon.  Freshmen Brittney Zimmerman and Jackie Shunkwiler both had great  games, as did the whole squad.  Jr. forward Jess Ruvolis should be back in the line-up for the Ursinus game on Dec. 17th.  Get better Brit & GO AGGIES!!!  Lyco should give the MAC Commonwealth a run for their money this season!

kate

Congratulations to both FDU & Manhattanville for impressive wins yesterday!  We have to wait until Dec 17th to see our Aggies again - i guess finals come first  ;)

So very sorry to hear about the untimely death of the Women's basketball coach at Williamette.  i'll be thinking about the players & the school all day.  It's good to know that we're back to 8 & 8 again in the MAC.  Just rushing around with Christmas stuff but had to post about Williamette & the Arcadia news.

A little too much rushing - i meant Alvernia.

Kean looks like the real deal beating Messiah tonight by nine in Union.  Messiah will be at DeSales on Sat.

Despite being behind at the half, 35/45, DeSales went on to beat Messiah 70/64 in a game at Center Valley.  i'm upset that Kean lost this afternoon to Mary Washington - would kind of like them to go all the way with a MAC team beating them for the championship naturally.   ;)

Sorry for the double here, but Lyco knocked off King's this afternoon 57/54.  Told you Lyco was for real.
