DII MSU-Mankato announced their spring football schedule earlier this week. They are playing five scrimmages and one official game. "The Mavericks will then host three straight scrimmages at the Blakeslee Stadium practice fields beginning on Saturday, March 27 against Gustavus Adolphus at 12:00 p.m."

I'm ok with no SJU games. Gary and staff have a track record so if games aren't beneficial it's all good by me.

I would get vaccinated even with nothing more than a saline solution at this point.  With a horse needle.  Just give it to me and go away already.

That acutally happened in Sauk Centre, which is where my MIL recently got her first shot.  Thankfully, she got the real thing.

I have to admit Duff, I thought you were going somewhere with the horse needle and MIL (no offense intended).

So you can attest to the brutality of that stuff.  The turf at the Metrodome and Auggie Tech seemed soft, in comparison!

Fargodome turf was like memory foam compared to the wirebrush they put down at the Bismarck Community Bowl.

By comparison, Dakota Field, NDSU's old stadium where the majority of Fargo's HS games were once held, had turf so worn out you might as well have played in the parking lot. Big gaps in the old seams at various yard marks too, to give the defense an additional advantage.

Yeah well in my day we painted the parking lot green and played on that!  If a car took a wrong turn, came on to the field (parking lot) and ran you over, you got back up and got back in the huddle.

This was such a great skit! I was waiting for Eric Idle's last bit: "each day our dad would get home from work, kill us all, and dance on our graves"

I knew it was coming, I still laughed and it fits perfectly this rough, tough turf talk.

We had some tough turf at Auggie for certain. The Metrodome turf was softer than our original turf at Augsburg, it was from the Detroit Silverdome.

The Auggie turf was horrific.  I played on it a few times.  The sliding pits had some nice razors on them.  When the dome covered the field you couldn't see a dang thing at night.

In the event any recruits/parents are reading this board, anyone posting here has not played any football in at least 25 years. The turf at Auggie is beautiful now!
