Very cool.  I would imagine that helps stoke some fun "why not me" dreams across D3 offensive linemen, and players in general.

Yeah, it is.  And the Jags picked him to do a media session today as well.

I'm really holding out for the time he gets intro'd on TV and says "St John's University".  Jags games don't get carried here often unless they play someone, uh, a little better.  I've got hopes for the Jags, though.  If they can take advantage of bottoming out last year then we may see them more often.

Tommies intro to the Pioneer League will have to wait...

It wasn't a conference game...sure gonna be tough playing UNI the next week without an NAIA appetizer.

Ah - good call.

Yes, that will make it all the more challenging.  I can't imagine they'll find the fill-in they're hoping for, but maybe there'll be another covid induced cancellation that leaves a dance partner open.

They've still got Michigan Tech before UNI.

What a great representative of SJU, the MIAC, and D3. Love everything about his demeanor. He's confident yet humble, articulate, and just does a great job in front of the camera. I also get a kick out of the 2nd year pro from a D3 school calling the All American Rookie from Clemson "Kid"  8-)

Carleton has an opening in its schedule on September 4--just sayin'

https://athletics.carleton.edu/sports/football/schedule

LET'S GO!

They've already got 10 games scheduled though, including championship week. Having a D3 Championship week doesn't open things up to play 11 games, right? I don't think so, so that's a no I guess.

Our friends at Linfield have only 9 games scheduled AND September 4th open though. That'd be fun (not a chance)

It does, but only if you have 12 or more conference members, so that's a no-go for MIAC teams.

Just noticed the 3rd team All American punter for Wheaton is John Bickle. He started out with UST, though I don't think he saw any action (who needs specialty Punters anyway?)

That was a fluke, dangit!

I was at that game and we all noticed that he was creeping up a step or two with every successive punt (while Bethel/Kilgore was getting big pressure). I was just waiting for this to happen, it felt inevitable.

Ha!  Yeah, I actually really like that play when it's well executed, and it is particularly well suited for a coach like Caruso,  who you might expect to actually go for it on 4th and short rather than punt.
