We are looking like a team with 54 freshman..
Well, the good news is that 54 is a large incoming class of freshmen.

Well, the Gusties looked impressive on their Homecoming Saturday. I hope all that was said today about the Johnnies looking prone to a passing attack proves true next week as they face "Cob-Air" for Homecoming in Moorhead next week. Cobbers have a few things to fix in defense, but are fun to watch. Yes, I can say that!

I'll be enjoying a little time in Nashville next weekend, so I don't plan to be chiming in.

Did Veldmen get hurt?

Early enough in the season for another redshirt for Dr Veldman?

I believe he was.  The Madden Curse, of sorts.  He had a really good feature at d3football.com just last week.

Veldman went out hobbling on a bad ankle early...I believe at the end of their first series. He was on crutches on the sideline the rest of game. Backup was excellent after a couple early misfires...mostly passing but also ran for a TD. Gusties simply have a well-equipped offense this year.

If you're not watching HSU v MHBU then you should be.

Just got home from Collegeville.  Tuned in to this game.  Shocking score, 21-7 HSU.

Over 10 minutes remaining in the 2nd quarter so a lot of time left, but #7 Hardin-Simmons is up 21-7 on #2 UMHB. Hard not to wonder what St John's would look like against those ranked ahead of them.

Holy cow! UMHB had Hardin-Simmons in a 4th & 7, brought a rusher to block the punt, the HSU punter side-stepped the rusher, looked like he was going to take a crack at punting it, but saw that he had room to run so gained the 1st down. On the ensuing play a touchdown! Surprising how lopsided this game has started off! 28-7, HSU over #2 UMHB with 6:38 remaining in the 2nd quarter.

The Johnnies are pretty strong.  Offensively the line, RB and WR are all very good.  The TE is unfair.  The receivers have the dropsies at the moment but that will pass.  The only "weak" spot is the green QB who has a great arm and can run.  I think by the time we're into the non-conference end of the season (knock on wood), the offense will be a challenge for nearly every squad.

The defensive secondary and pass coverage is a trouble spot but the d-line is very strong.  There's a lot of practice and a lot of games (CON and GAC) in particular that will test the boys.  I think they'll improve.

For a squad that has had almost complete turnover from the 2019 team it is in a really strong position.

SJU was very good up front on both sides of the ball. Alston also balled out. Nice win.

Bethel is going to be a tough out for each team on the remainder of their schedule! Assuming both the Johnnies & Royals take care of business, will undoubtedly be another epic matchup for the conference crown!

Roste is both talented and a fighter.  And BU always execute well.  If we meet again (knock on wood), it will be an epic clash.
