Not that anyone cares-but golfing today I got stung by a bee on my right ring finger-was interesting using the pre Vardon overlapping grip.  Was kinda like a baseball swing, even dropped one hand after contact like baseball.

Zip, of course I care. How did it go?
Were you able to rotate/release the club properly or were you pulling the ball?
Did you get the stinger out? Benadryl is your friend.  8-)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Thank 105-
No stinger in-So that was good.
The driver went left-too strong left hand-but I was able to draw irons nicely.
Beer works better and combo of both-Benadryl and beer-might be the best way to go.

That's a great recipe for a nice, long nap. ;)

Did you see what stung you? Any chance it was a Yellow Jacket wasp, not a bee? Those little buggers can sting numerous times, and will if they go down your shirt while riding a bike before you can stop to deal with them.

No word on Veldman's ongoing status. The crutches after the Cobber game aren't a good sign. The backup isn't Veldman, but he has potential. He just needs to learn to eat it under pressure. His picks were generally ill advised throws while he was about to be sacked.

They have a solid RB and some nice receivers. They just aren't good enough up front to hand with SJU on either side of the ball IMO. They also lack height at the skill spots, which I think hurts them against the SJU length.
Robbinsdale Armstrong kid...only his first year seeing time. I work with a guy that coaches at Armstrong and has very complimentary things to say about how talented he is.
Hoping in a few weeks our Armstrong alum on the defensive line has a reunion or two in the offensive backfield.

Over my many years of trying to get better, I have used the Vardon and interlocking grips back and forth. I have been with the interlocking for a long time now, and have tried gripping with the Vardon grip. It feels alien. Arthritis is creeping into my knuckles and I just hope I can hold on to the club at all for a few more years.

Those damn wasps are nasty fellows.

More of a Benadryl + Bourbon guy myself.  8-)

You know how kids talk but my son thinks or was told he has broken ankle. But you never know.

From GAC site: Michael Veldman (Sr., Becker) suffered a season-ending injury two weeks ago in the 36-21 win over Concordia and Jake Breitbach (So., Golden Valley) has been thrust into the starting role. Entering the Concordia game in the first offensive series and starting last week at Bethel, Breitbach has completed 32-of-50 passes for 422 yards, a touchdown, and four interceptions. He is also third on the team in rushing with 26 carries for 121 yards and a score.

That's a shame, really.  For him personally and for SJU.  The performance against CON has me a little giddy for national competition and I wanted the Johnnies going up against the best they can get.  The new guy has a bit of time to settle before lining up against SJU so he may be pretty hot by then.

Dang. I was looking forward to that matchup for SJU. Gustavus is a great old school MIAC rival, and I am hoping it becomes more competitive going forward.

So I think I will be good to go for the game today-the swelling in my hand and finger has gone down quite a bit. Might have to hold the beer in the other had, though.
