Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

I'm just trying to imagine the world in which Bethel-Hamline is a game I would end up at. But the world has turned upside down before!

Pat, in 1985 or so you probably would have pondered ever ending up at a St. John's-Bethel game! What Bethel did to turn their world downside-up in 5-10 years was extraordinary. It can happen.

I mean, probably not, but I was 12 at the time.

What?! 12-year-old Pat Coleman wasn't plugged into the battle amongst SJU, Concordia, Hamline, and Gustavus for the MIAC Crown throughout the 1980s? Or Bob Reade's Augustana Vikings run of four consecutive national championships?!

I'm shocked. I hope you're proud of choosing Thundercats over D3 football.

I believe my team was Augustana's 49th or 50th consecutive victory/victim, of the 60 total, and destroyed our dreams of a natty. They were a unique team. If I recall correctly, they ran an old school wing-T type offense with all the offensive lineman in 4-point stances. I don't recall personally seeing another college team do that.

The late 80's and early 90's-when the showed like one miac game on satellite-whatever was Fox Sports North-we watched in Chicago.

Ice Bear

The Royals welcome Hamline tomorrow at 2. Ice is looking forward to this and hopes the Royals take care of business and have zero injuries. The Bear will be paying close attention as he and the Bear family galivant around the Capital Region doing some Fall type ****.
A long time fan of DIII Football!

IB, Bethel could likely start all freshman and beat Hamline.

A tradition unrivaled...

Just to clarify, that would be 2pm EST, 1pm CST. Don't want any locals to think the game starts at 2 here. ;)

Saint John's-Augsburg game notes are available:

https://gojohnnies.com/news/2022/10/5/sju-footballs-week-6-game-notes-at-augsburg.aspx

Oof those stat averages and where they put us with the conference and nation are rough.

Auggies D is giving up 143 yards on the ground per game....against the likes of Northwester,  Martin Luther, St. Scholastica and Olaf.
If Johnnies can't manage that much I don't have much hope for us to discover a running attack.

Trost had a big game last year against Auggie.
11 carries for 107 yards, four touchdowns in the first half, and a two-point conversion.

Agree that if they can't find a serviceable rushing attack on Saturday, they'll be hard pressed to find one that will do much of anything for them come November.

And rushing for 150 against a team giving up 143 avg would be a rather pedestrian accomplishment.

;D

I'm glad Steve "Ice Bear" Johnson is establishing such a solid alibi to throw MIACPP off the scent.  8-)

Well, the heat is on at the Sag household in Sioux Falls. Daytime high of 55° combined with an overnight low of 28° was the knockout combo for me.

My hats off to the remaining competitors.

Heat turned on in Highland Park, Saint Paul as well. I came home with what appears to be a head cold and the house was freezing. Cars parked on the street have a decent layer of frost on them this morning.
Did covid test when I woke up because I've got an appointment w/ my orthopedic surgeon on Monday to discuss remaining options (other than replacement) on my ****ty knee...but I really don't think there are at this point. Covid test was negative! No I''ve got to decide if I feel like spending an afternoon at Augsburg?
