Assuming Wartburg handles their business against Monmouth, will St John's move up to #4 in the next poll? Now anxious to see if we get dialed in, clean up what we need to, & how we'll look on the road at Whitewater? Seeking our first ever win there & first trip back to Whitewater since Erdmann was under center in December '19.

Seems likely. Top 10 is going to see a shakeup considering #3, 4, 9, and 10 all lost. Might see some big moves in the first 3 weeks.

Don't count the chickens, mate.  It only ends in heartache.  The only poll that counts is the last game the boys play in a season.

Next week against UWW will be very tough.  We used a lot of Magic this week.  Hopefully, we don't need to reload the magic wand for next week.

Completely agree! It's just fun to be highly ranked! I hope we look worthy of it next weekend! 20 years removed from our last national championship. Always hoping the day comes when we get another! One game at a time, though!

Man, Trinity were good.  We were lucky to win that game with a big momentum swing in the last quarter.  Trinity were fast and tough.  Their secondary were all over our guys like a bad smell.  And their QB threw darts every time.

Does anyone know what the injury was that kept him out of the game?  It didn't even look like he was really hit.  Did he simply fall oddly and tweak something?

Anyways, if we meet Trinity again this year, I will not be a confident fan.  They will definitely be calling this one that got away.

I believe I read that he was cramping. I pulled Wartburg's game up & they're only up on unranked Monmouth 42-35 with 9:30 left in the 4th.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting Trinity should have won the game. The Trinity coach must know nothing of Johnny magic. When Trinity had the ball near the Johnies 10 before the end of regulation, I said to my wife that Trinity better just take a knee, run the clock and kick because Johnnie magic is a real thing.
Crazy how that happens.

A bit random but read it off Frank's recap. Trinity's roster has a MIAC connection with their kicker, who transferred from St. Olaf it appears after the 2021 season. Trinity is a real solid team. Will be interesting to see the result of the Texas battle next week after their trips to the Midwest.

The video is still bad?
I guess spending money to travel was worth it!

A Trinity fan commented on the in game update board that they missed 15 plays.

I thought the video quality was good, they just have to train their camera operators on how to follow the ball. You can't have multiple camera angles just completely miss plays. That's a basic task, even for a free stream—completely unacceptable for a pay-per-view to miss plays.
Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

Was me that commented - and I promise it wasn't just being sour grapes! There were many plays, honestly probably more than 15, with throws longer than 10-15 yards and absolutely no camera on it (at least live). The broadcast obviously has a ton of cameras based on all the angles but for whatever reason the transitions just weren't there and so many plays were missed. And unfortunately many key ones. I was also dumbfounded that they had end zone viewpoints (behind the uprights) yet they never went to them on field goal attempts! With so many angles at their disposal that broadcast should be phenomenal. Video quality was excellent throughout - switched between my phone and laptop and never had any quality or buffering issues.

Holy hell, that was some serious Johnnie Magic.  Trinity was very good, but it was impressive that the Johnnies stayed focused and believed till the end.  Not a real impressive game but an extremely impressive win.

-The inability of the Johnnies to pressure the QB nearly sank then.
-Syverson looked nervous in the pocket.  He made some nice plays, but he also panicked and bailed too often.
-Definitely not a valid targeting call on the Trinity player--15-yards, yes, but he should not have been DQ'd.  I hope that gets reviewed and he's reinstated for their next game.

Hopefully nothing serious on the injury front for both teams.  It was nice to chat with a few TU folks yesterday and connect with a few teammates I have seen in ages!

I wanted to say thanks to the Johnnie faithful who were welcoming, helpful, and respectful in the win yesterday (excited, of course, who wouldn't be, but no rubbing it in or anything like that).  Your president even said some kind words to me, just some random guy sitting in the stands after the game, as he was walking up the steps.  It truly was a unique experience and one I will gladly recommend to my fellow Trinity supporters and anyone else that has yet to experience "Johnny Magic."  Y'all showed incredible fortitude coming back from 17 down in the fourth and sadly we seemingly did everything in our power to assist in that comeback.  And your defense is a bunch of hard-hitting (and clean) old-school types.  Respect.  Good luck the rest of the way, hopefully our coaching staff learned a couple of lessons yesterday and we'll earn the chance to see you up there again in the playoffs.
